Always the chance of a bad injury, against lower division teams in particular.

Exacty this. I've noted in the past that Marmoush and Reijnders need a few games to get up to speed, they're rarely at their best when they come in after not playing for a few weeks.

Not sure what it is with Phil but you don't just lose that talent.
 
The drop off between our first 13 or 14 or so, and the second string, is alarming. Some not in form, some seemingly couldn't finish their dinner let alone a chance.

Hopefully we've not picked up any more injuries, Ake was fantastic, but the forward line was toothless. Not easy watching it on Saints TV, I mean the BBC, I'll be back in person for the final.
 
That was a hard watch for most of the game but probably understandable with all the changes and so many players on the pitch lacking match fitness. Southampton defended really well and scored a worldy so credit to the players who came on and recovered the situation, particularly Doku and Nico G. 4 FA cup finals in a row, let that sink in, we could only dream of that before Pep arrived.
 
So despite me thinking otherwise prior to the game Pep got it right again. His picks were good enough in the first half to go in with the lead albeit Marmoush and Reijnders were disappointing. Phil… what is going on. All the rest were ok and Kova and Nico were really good I thought. So were Nathan and John. Confusing shape with AN and Nunes acting as wingers it made the centre very congested and Cherki, Reijnders and Phil all falling over each other. Doku made a huge difference to the game. Another final. The first team in FA cup history to get to 4 in a row. Southampton were very good. Defended really well and will make a good addition to the PL. (as long as they can hold on to their coach.)
 
Great result albeit a mixed bag in terms of performance.

Those that were very good - Ake, Stones, Nunes, Doku, Nico and Kova - got us over the line.

It's fair to say that both Foden and Marmoush had shockers.

Another FA Cup final to look forward to - happy days!

Does he wear double breasted suits? I always thought they looked shite. I'm obviously behind the times. I remember it was fashionable back in the 80s for shirts.......

Got there in the end after speeding it up a bit in the 2nd half.
Got Alan Partridge USA 94 commentary vibes for that Nico G welly too. Well played lads. 4 finals on the bounce.
