Thinking about it, they are the only Manchester band I own anything by,though that's a stretch they wre from Stockport. Suppose I could throw in Oldham and Dare

Their studio was in Stockport. Godley and Crème are from Prestwich, Gouldman from Salford and Eric Stewart from Droylsden

If the question was about the most technically brilliant albums out of MCR, the top 3 would be by 10cc

I like technical brilliance. But they were also fabulous at heavy, moving, funny. And they built a studio in Stockport.

I've seen them about 20 times and they were only bad twice and one of those was interesting because I saw them the next night and it was probably the best I've ever seen them. In the 80s they weren't playing the same set each night and often unreleased songs they'd just written.

Think I heard someone shout: "Play something we know" after a few new songs on the trot, followed by someone shout "Play somethin YOU know" :) Also heard recently that Uncle Bernard sang out of tune on purpose (aye) but when yr down the front as a teenager it didn't matter.
