6 | Nathan Ake - 2025/26

His reading of the game has always been great.

He's never been particularly quick, not the biggest etc. But he can read the game so we'll that he makes up for that.

Just a shame he is injury prone and only been available for half of the games over the last two years.

He still has another year on his contract and has just turned 31, so you expect he will be moved on for a fee. If his next club get lucky with his fitness, they've got a great signing .
 
Our unsung hero! Always there when we need him, never complains ,an absolute model professional. I think he's a player's player, quietly gets on with his job. He deserves all that he has achieved and when he does go Ill be sorry to see him leave and where ever he end up the club will will be lucky to have him
 
Was great yesterday. Khusanov's pace covered Ake's main weakness and let him do what he's good at.
 
Where do you play him with Gvardiol and Guehi coming back for LCB.

I think people are not understanding the situation correctly.

Ake has been great, but he doesnt want to be 3rd choice LB or LCB. He has outright said he wants to play more

He is so obviously going in the summer.
 
As with Akanji, he's good enough to be in the starting line-up week after week of a fairly major European team if he wants. And if injuries permit. Could probably go back to the Netherlands in a heart beat. Good performance yesterday — of course it wasn't exactly against a very threatening attack. But not to diminish it. It's never easy to come in from weeks out and play well at Wembley. He's been a fine servant, like Akanji, but he'll be gone in the summer.
As others have said: Khusa, Guéhi, Rúben, Josko. We're set for years to come.
 
I read a lot of comments about other players not getting enough games and its why they are rusty and you just cannot be expected to perform without games. However Nathan Ake proves yet again that you can be called upon and deliver and he delivers every single time. A fantastic professional who has served this club well in his time here. Always a solid performer rarely if ever drops below a 6/10 performance and more often delivers 7 and 8/10's. These are the type of players whom can be relied on to be called into the team and keep us ticking and is a big part as to why we have been so successful. A model proffessional footballer and I wish him all the success when he leaves us hopefully to become a starter elsewhere. Maybe we should have played him more at left back to see if he could have made that role his own. I'd have more confidence in him than any others we have tried (Nico O' the exception).
 
We have Khus, Dias, Gvardiol and Guehi next season.

You would think Reis will have another year abroad, he might not get game time but won't be against him being around.

He's probably the best of them in the air and he might be smaller than them.

Absolutely spot on. He has been one of those players who can be mediocre, on occasions, for sure, but almost never turns in a rank bad performance. I treasure those players. Bernardo is another like that. We will miss them, believe it.
 
He should get a mid table PL team for next season
Less United away, he’s been fine this season. A steady Eddie and a treble winner - also, he performance in the LC Final shows he’s still got enough to operate at PL, maybe Europa League level
 
Keep him! His experience alone is enough to justify, but I suppose he might want to move on to get more game time. If he hadn’t had a couple of injury-ridden seasons there would be no question about his future at City.
