Junior Kroupi

£80m would get Diomande.

They're the same age, with almost exactly the same goal output. Kroupi has spent the last year doing it in the Premier League as opposed to the Bundesliga and has a bit more experience under his belt but nothing major.

Makes sense that their value would be similar.

Once again, Kroupi is the perfect replacement for Alvarez. He'll play alongside Haaland without any problems, whereas Marmoush struggles with his first touch and movement, being less mobile. Marmoush to Villa for £60M Kroupi here for £70M

4-4-2

Narrow formation. Like him though. His intelligence looks off the chart.

I think it all comes down to Marmoush. I personally don't think Marmoush is City class, so I would always upgrade if we can. I would prefer Diomande and Maza (from what I've seen) to Kroupi at that price.

I do really like Kroupi. He's an excellent talent.

Dont see where he fits in

Not a wide player....aint anywhere near Foden or Cherki levels (regardless of Fodens form) in a no.10 role and we have seen what happens to the teams overall performance levels when we try and play a second striker next to Haaland....its shit

Semenyo can deputise as a forward for Haaland upfront when he doesnt play.

We dont want Cherki outwide....yes he can play there and play well but we lose his creativity centrally and his goal threat...Pep has said he wants him close to goal - that aint outwide.

If we are going for a forward this summer it needs to be a true wide player on the right

Where we lack is a true number 8 however.....Reijnders has been very poor and though he will get one more season at least its going to need the biggest upturn in form needed since Kalvin Phillips to get near to being good enough

Let’s get 2 LW then while having one already. I think the club needs an actual RW more.
Exactly, even Semenyo seems a bit more comfortable on the left than the right. We need a very good, left-footed right winger, but unfortunately, I don't see any realistic options on the market right now.

No doubt a quality player but we don’t need anymore of these half striker half anything in attack profile. Natural wingers, midfielders and fullbacks this summer please.

An attacker comfortable across the front-line is exactly what we need.
Assuming Marmoush goes, which is likely, we have no cover for Erling, and a back-up striker will rarely play, so someone who can play central and wide is a good fit.
With Bernardo going, we do need a midfielder, of course, and we have one full-back vacancy.

Okay, so we get past transfer deadline and Haaland gets injured and is out for the season. Semenyo isn't a top level striker, he's someone who can fill in there for 20 minutes or the odd match against lesser opposition. It quite possibly would be the season screwed.

You're right about when we've played a second striker - but maybe that's partly down to Semenyo and Marmoush not being that good at it? We managed to play Alvarez behind Haaland at times pretty well.

We obviously thought we needed a replacement Alvarez/backup for Haaland when we got Marmoush. He's not quite cut it, but we do need someone still. Kroupi would be young enough to be patient and seems good enough to cover. Not having a proper backup striker always seems a risk to me.

Semenyo's decent on the right, then we also have other options like Savinho and Cherki or Foden drifting in. We are fairly stocked - though some of those options depends on having Nunes push forward into the space they leave.

Edit - just to add, who we sign will depend to some extent on who leaves. I'm assuming Marmoush will go, but that's obviously not a definite. If he stays and Savinho goes then the need changes too. I'm not against any of the players suggested currently, and I haven't seen Kroupi all that much - but I do want us having someone as backup to Haaland and he's young and is a good finisher, so I certainly wouldn't complain if we got him.

Kroupi is 19 , he can be moulded to play any other attacking position, looking at him at Bournemouth he pops up at striker, attacking midfielder and on the wing during games. I think the club are interested as he's 19 and already has 11 goals in the prem as an attacker.

If the idea is to replace Marmoush who has barely been at the club 2 years to a guy who would be slightly more happy to sit bench instead then I don’t get it. Marmoush came with the same idea of playing across the frontline and look how that went. Semenyo being a natural winger has led to increased game time and he can play centrally too. Once again I do think he’s a neat player but could argue for that value you could also try for Joao Pedro at Chelsea who is more established. But prioritise getting goal scoring wingers.

We cannot blame Marmoush because he hardly plays. Expecting him to be razor-sharp is naive and many fans lack the patience to wait for players to come good. In addition, the player may decide that waiting around is not for him, or the promises that were made were not fulfilled - we just don't know what the player thinks, but he has a market value that will be worth exploiting should those issues be genuine.

I haven't seen enough of Kroupi to know what to expect. I would think that a forward line of four wingers, two of whom can play centrally as a supplementary forward or wide, is the best solution to the conundrum of back-up to Erling, who will simply play the majority of games, as will Rodri in his position.
