North Stand expansion | Trial Event - Wed 20th May (p110)

He seems to think that City restrict the front rows when City fans are in that tier which is obviously not correct its just when away fans have it.

He does have an overall point on the capacity, it was something I mentioned early on, there are various increased capacities floating about, i think we are very close to 60k and not the 62k that's often mentioned.
Nope full capacity is 61958 of course this is affected depending the match and restricting seats at the front of away tiers

Free parking.
Free food.
A free drink.
Entertainment.
Player appearances.
Prize draws.
The chance to look around and to sit in the new North stand first, if you are thinking of moving there.

I really don’t understand what all the £5 fuss is all about.
Come on jrb it's Bluemoon. There's people on here who would moan if the club offered to pay them £5 to go.

Yes. That's one document there are numerous others that say different.

The maths also implies a different capacity. That shows a net of 61,474 our current capacity is 52600 ish so nearly 9000 extra seat required, yet city are telling us the North stand has approx 7000 additional seat assuming these don't include the hospitality suites and skybar we are at approx 60200

It does generate the question of where the 1000 seats are that disappeared from the 23/24 season have gone? Some will be the back 2 rows of the old north level 2, but that's nowhere near 1000 seats, and we don't know if they are included in City's 7000 new north stand seats.

I thought City were restricting access to all of the front rows of SSL3 but on checking the drone videos, I can see that it is only in place for the away section.

The communication on the numbers of new seats added vary. The planning documentation quote precise figures: 7,910 / 61,958 whereas City's public comms. refer to 7,000 plus / 60,000 plus. Both could be right but I prefer precise figures. There is also a gap between the planned seat capacity and the current attendances, and sometimes imprecise numbers of new seats to be added.

Am I seeing this right? They are expecting 3500+ people to rock up to some kind of fuckiing City Square style cheesefest with nothing to see? That can't be right.

I'd go in a heartbeat if I could.

The first look at a new stand, the only single tier in the stadium, etc? Plus the extras of a drink, a bite, and whatever content they put on. And the chance to contribute with other blues to the stand opening for the villa game which could be monumental, by being part of an essential test. For a mere fiver? I imagine people would be up for that.

It is just under 62k that is referred to in all the formal documents and drawings that have been approved. If it is circa 2k below that in reality, then seats have been lost across the stadium.

If they on;y sell 1000 tickets does that mean that the stand doesn't open for the Villa game? This whole things sounds like incredibly bad planning to me. As above, sure there's a women or academy game?

The planning of the events is interlinked with ongoing and shifting progress on site. It is not an easy thing to juggle, and hence it might seem last minute.

You'd hope there would be enough people up for it, whether they just want to be a part of something, get more than a fiver's worth in perks, see the new stand, or scope out and decide whether they'd want to move to it next season.

You can have an overpriced, dried up chilli dog too? Put me down. Sounds biblical.

Fwiw i've not seen documents that contradict this. It is pretty consistent in everything associated with this development. And it presumably takes into account the previously removed seats, goven the timing of it.

Yes I know, but that was a point in time, obviously there's 10s of 1000s of specs, schedules and drawings produced since then, these differ from that figure and City's own info released since then backs up that it's not going to be 62k as they reference 7000 approx in the North stand not the approx 9000 thats required to get us to 62k from our current capacity.

The test event again references 3500 required for 50%.

I suppose we'll see after the Villa game, I'm expecting that we wont hit 60k.

We obviously have access to different documents.

Yeah, I'm obviously basing it on what is publicly available.

But then that surely has to be 'the default' figure, in conversation as the public.

I think its reasonable to talk about it when City are putting test events on for 7000 seats when we need 9000 to hit the 62k previously mentioned.

What's publicly available suggests its no longer 62k - I'm just backing that up with what I can see elsewhere.
