47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Some semi grit from him today, although your entire season potentially combusting In 15 minutes will do that.

What do the coaches say to him before he comes in the pitch? I always think with him just get the first action right and build from there. Doesn’t have to be anything extravagant. Good shot off and aright cameo, hope the next few weeks he’s more involved

Loves City. For me yesterday he forgot whatever is holding him back and were desperately trying to save our title charge. Every sign that there is still a footballer in there is good, because my mind has gone to Michael Johnson lately. I love him

Signs a new contract.

Lucky he's come through the City academy as any other player who played crap for 2 years wouldn't be getting one.
Depends what they (the club) know - as opposed to KFA “fans”

The club might have known stuff about Grealish but he was still moved on.

Over the last two years he's not deserved a new contract, he's getting one because he's come through the academy and what he did 3+ years ago.

Hope he comes good again obviously.

0 goals and 1 assist this year: in 22 appearances. Most of those apps were probably off the bench as he lost his starting place after United away, but it's still a shocking stat.

Of course, the club will try everything to help him. Foden can't find a better environment.

He had an at worst subpar 24/25. He was arguably our best player in the first half of this seasons. Fatigue got to him as he was playing every game. Also had to cover for injuries.

Modern game, I guess, but with seconds on the clock and about to take a corner, is pulling your stockings up over your knees the priority? Maybe all those pull your socks up comments have had a literal effect…

Still our second highest goal scorer both this season and last. We'd be much worse off without him, even at his worst.

On a side note, last night was the first time I noticed how much weight he's lost. My missus mentioned it a few weeks ago but last night he looked like he was made entirely out of Riyad's legs.

Whatever's happened to him I'm really pleased the club's showing faith in him, instead of whatever it is half of the fanbase has been doing.

Great news. You don't get rid of players like Foden, especially with the lifelong links he has with the club.

Hopefully this improves his form. Weirdly it sometimes does for a footballer.

Let’s agree to disagree - we’ve moved academy players on when need be - eg great English hope Palmer
