Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Cunts are already at it!!!

Knew when this went viral it would bite us on the arse somewhere along the line.
Because it was arrogant and unbecoming of City fans, as was the Panic On The Streets Of London banner. Put a massive target on our back and created a meme we'll now never see the end of every time we don't win a game.

Didn't mind the Panic banner. That was pointing out a feeling that did presently exist among Arsenal fans after we beat them. But the guy drinking from the Arsenal tears bottle was too far. Said it at the time that Arteta would pin his stupid face to the dressing room wall at the Emirates and use him as inspiration. Silly, arrogant thing to do.

The fact that Khusa/Guehi/Nunes have gotten this far being so good means I can forgive them an off night. Hard to be mad at anyone tbh. From 3-1 down to 3-3 showed some serious balls and character. Hard to be mad at Guehi for an uncharacteristically poor mistake. There was definite headloss at 2-1 but I think that came as much from Everton suddenly finding a huge second wind and being happy to let the game be end to end.

As an aside, Doku is an object lesson for all those currently writing off Semenyo. Some people never learn.
Seme was doing some world class shit last night. Dirty bstards gave him a seeing to not surprised he had to come off

I thought the lads that have no experience of title run ins showed last night. We talk about Arsenal being “bottlers” but the majority of their squad has been through it albeit unsuccessfully in the last few years.
It will still count for something and give them some valuable experience.

Cherki, Semenyo, Guehi, Nico G all looked off it.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence they are all new to this level.

They will learn, it’s a young side but I just prey Pep is here next year to get them over the line and give them that experience.

I get it mate, but he HAS to be stronger. Literally nothing happened to him last night, there's no reason for him not to get closer to that ball and then complain afterwards, what was he complaining about?! He's so fucking big he can actually get his hand on the ball before he even hits anyone, use your frame and make the ball yours. It's happened on multiple occasions this season, gives you zero confidence.

As for the game, it's been our problem for 2 seasons at least. We can't take our chances, even Semenyo who was bagging every game has turned useless in front of goal. Give the opposition a sniff and they'll take it, no team in the PL is a mug.
I\ve been saying for a good number of seasons, including every title winning season, when a chance has gone begging that any journeymen striker from the top two divisions would bury it!

Really carful before saying anything a little negative on here about my fellow Blues, but I was a little mystified at how many left the away-end early. Surely as City fans we know to stay till the whistle - Gillingham, QPR, Villa, etc?

I know it was a wierd performance - and soul destroying after they scored the third - but when did we become a club of precious entitled part-timers?

The lads needed us to get back level, and I am the last person to be accussed of being a 'happy clapper' - but it was embarassing to see so many leave - and unlike most, who were travelling back to Manchester - I was going back to London (as I do after every game).

Really dissapointed - and hope this kind of behaviour isn't creeping into our normaly outstanding away support. Even in -14 Bodo we stayed to the very end.

As for the stadium - what a brilliant ground (my first visit) - acustics are excellent - not a bad view in the house, and unlike going to Anfield, a pretty easy and non-invasive entry to the away end - and finally, from what I could see pretty limited corproate hospitality disrupting the structure of the stadium. It's what a modern football stadium should be in my book.

Anyway...I so now think it's all over, but a possible domestic cup-double and second looked impossible earlier in the season - so I will take that.

What a shame that he's a defender, then...
My main concern with Guehi is that he does have a tendency to want to play ‘high’ up the pitch when we are in possession; however when we invariably play one pass too many and it’s turned over, he struggles to get back. He doesn’t have the pace of Khush, Nunes or Stones. We need to address this next season. Positionally he is sound defensively.

That bottle has nothing to do with us making daft mistakes and only trying to properly attack in the last 5-10 minutes last night Bob.

lot of falling on arses last night - wrong studs - continued in second half too - and no team is more used to a slick pitch than us
Common theme amongst some of our players. Same at the Etihad too. Do our back room staff check the surface beforehand and advise the players on type of studs/footwear; or do the players decide for themselves? If it’s the latter, then some players, Nunes, Semenyo and Marmoush are repeatedly making the wrong choices. When I played, our management would be on the pitch beforehand, checking it out and advising the lads accordingly.

Yeah and we seem to be the only club who can’t have a transition rebuild given time? We have a lot of new players who don’t know how to win and settled fully in pep system! Remember Pep in something like this., we have 60% new player we will see if how the team does last few games because it’s all new to them! Last night it showed the team is not there..

We need left and right fullbacks. Stop wasting Nico O'Reilly on the left, this lad will be a superstar midfield player.
You're spot on, this team is learning the system and has to gel together. A couple of questions about Marmoush and Foden lack of game time, plus we need 100% on Pep's future

The title probably isn't meant to be despite the draw.

Let's be honest, over the season overall we haven't looked anything like being champions. We've been in great form recently but we've been less consistent in our performance level than Arsenal in my view.

I actually think we've done well for a team in transition to be so close to the title at this stage of the season and if we can build again in the summer, I see us as being strong favourites next year.

Of course, a League Cup and potential FA Cup isn't to be snuffed at either. 2nd and 2 cups is a good season in my view.
I was happy when we got 40 points anything else is a bonus.

Yeah was bloody obvious is was going to turn on us. Didn't find that shit funny really was inadvertently setting City up idiot
He just bought into the narrative of 'bottlers' like loads on here, without appreciating the fact that they have actually finished second to some brilliant teams.

Before the days of City and Liverpool going head-to-head from February onwards and barely dropping a point, it was quite normal for relegation fighters to nick points from title-chasers.

It could be argued that it's more criminal to drop the points that we dropped before the intense run-in pressure really built up?

Obviously this won't be popular with the posters on the Everton pre-match thread who were belittling others who were nervous about last night - some of whom are far less vocal in this thread...
