Referees' Performances | 2025/26

Was utterly shocked that O'Brien didn't go in the ref's book til the 84th minute. Honestly didn't expect that at all. I didn't think in the first 15 minutes he'd get away with it until the last few minutes of the game at all.

When Keane fouled Doku and got booked after being treated he made Doku leave the pitch. That is an error. I cannot believe he doesn't know that if a player is injured from a foul that earns a sanction (red or yellow) they do not have to leave the pitch after treatment. Gonzalez was pointing it out to him but still didn't change his mind. He waved Doku back on after about 15 seconds....I suspect somebody told him through his headset that he had fucked up.
This is just sums up how bad he is. He was shit last night but not knowing the laws of the game is embarrassing.

All the trolls screaming injustice as we equalised in the 7th minute of injury time.
I bet Oliver is beside himself now for allowing a minute stoppage for a player to be treated when already off the pitch.
Obviously the trolls forgot about this stoppage

City fans think we're reffed differently, Rags think it's them, Arsenal.....View attachment 191163
Yeah because playing an extra 40 seconds at the end of time added on, when a sub had been made in that time, is exactly the same as a key defender not receiving a red card after dishing out a textbook red card foul.

Or a title opponent's key player not being red carded after an attempted headbutt allowing them to play in the title race run in.

Of course fans complain about decisions but this isn't making the argument you think it is, unless you and @simon23 can give examples of big game changing decisions having gone against Arsenal this season, (such as attempted headbutts not being punished, multiple players not receiving red cards against them, a defender being kicked through the back of the leg making them kick the ball into their own net which the head of PGMOL then gaslights everyone using the national press to say the replays show the attacker getting the kick on the ball when the replays show the exact opposite, offside decisions where the graphic 'proving' the offside bears no relation to what actually happened in real life) then what you're providing is a massive, massive false equivalence and not worth a pile of shit.

It looked like it carried on as the corner was taken. I would want a penalty every time that happens to a City player.

Yes, and despite it happening several times a game, usually to Haaland, we have had not one penalty for this all season.

But you think this time it should have been a penalty? How man y should we have been awarded this season, then?

I don't know how many, it sounds like you keep a spreadsheet with all the times its happened to Haaland though, so you can probably tell me.

I think when it happens to any player, either for us or any other team, it should be a penalty, not really sure why that's such a surprising take.

The main point is that pretty much every team, every game, can complain about decisions. People up in arms on here about a possible red card and an offside and going on about bent refs..... none of those decisions were as bad as the penalty given to Bournemouth this weekend.

The day Webb and the greasy half bald **** were brushed under the rug was the day football died in pl

Ironically he short changed us in the first helf blowing up around 90 seconds short of the two minutes that were supposed to be a minimum.

Simple question, if it's so obviously corrupt why the fuk are you still watching? You're basically watching WWF!

Everton made a double substitution which toook about 40s and am Everton player ran into the barrier behind the goal and Oliver stopped play to allow his treatment for another 40s or so. The indicated time is a minimum. In this case the additional time at the end is easily accounted for.

He then allowed Doku back on the pitch when the play was in the area Doku was coming on from. In every FA course they tell you to only let the player back on when the play is nowhere near him.

The foul on Doku doesn't look like a red card if shown in slow motion. Because the latter masks the excessive force.

This decision might cost us the league, because it might be the difference between drawing 3:3 and winning 3:0... Or that Solanke goal, or many other decisions. Can understand if Pep feels tired by that treatment.

Even in slow motion I don’t think anyone can convince me that isn't out of control, excessive and endangering Doku. He's so lucky that he lifts his legs or they'd be snapped

You didn't answer my questions, it's generally polite to answer questions before throwing out questions of your own. Answering questions with further questions is poor debate technique and generally shows a weakness in a responders argument.

I'll ask again;

What makes you think that a referee adding 40 seconds to an extra time period that contained a substitution and an injury break is equivalent to an opposition key defender not being correctly sent off?

What imcotrect key decisions this season have caused Arsenal to drop points that are comparable to the examples I listed?

Answer these and I'll come back and answer your query in depth.

I've got no issue with the added time at all — my point was about the Arsenal fan’s comment. I only shared it to show that every club has a section of supporters who are utterly convinced the system is corrupt specifically against them.

As for your second question, nothing jumps out immediately, but if you asked on an Arsenal forum you’d be buried in examples.

What you’re suggesting amounts to a long‑running, targeted corruption campaign against one club that’s somehow both blatant and unprecedented, yet even the club itself doesn’t seem uninterested in challenging it.

The ball wasn't in play so it's allowed.

It's a horrible rule, and I'd love to see a firm clampdown on any holding and shirt pulling at all from set pieces, but that is the rule this season so you can do whatever you like when the ball is wnor in play and it won't be pulled up.

It certainly does impact that game as in theory you can down the opposition player prior to the corner being taken then nod it in or out whilst he's on the ground, and it's all fair game. But if they start giving them now with a few games to go then what about the hundreds they've let go since August?
There's an easy remedy to this nonsense. The ref should be informed to blow his whistle when the corner/set piece is about to be taken. At that point, even though the ball is yet to be kicked, the ball is deemed to be live. Any wrestling or pulling is then punished, by way of a penalty or a free kick to the defending side. The amount of wrestling in the area this season has been nothing short of outrageous, and totally spoilt the Premier League as a spectacle.
