Palestine Action

Havent the courts ruled that proscribing Palestine Action wasnt legal?
They did but in a rather dubious way. They've told the government they can appeal and framed it in such a way that the police have said they will still arrest people !

I did mean to ask our legal eagles on here because I found it bizarre. You've lost but carrying on arresting people !

That said @moomba thought it was illegal to show support for Palestine, it isnt and that was my point.

Worrying times indeed: the activists being charged again as a terrorist,
has several consequences on the evidence they can present to the Jury.

“Max Blumenthal just exposed a shocking corruption of the British justice system. Six activists from Palestine Action went back to court after being acquitted in February. They had already served in prison, staged a hunger strike, and one attempted suicide under extremely harsh conditions. Now they face potential terrorist sentences.

But here's the kicker: the jury is not allowed to know about the "terrorist" designation. They're being led to believe they're ruling on simple criminal charges. If they convict, a biased judge — a former barrister for MI6 and the Metropolitan Police — can then sentence them as terrorists

The UK has become a police state for Israel”
If a defendant explains that, it sounds like it goes against the judge's directions so would be contempt of court... but what then? Just tell the jury to ignore it, or collapse the trial? Are they planning to ignore any motive for the criminal damage?

It has forced Elbit systems to close the site and move some of its work elsewhere, they have 12 factories in the UK, how much of an impact it will have remains to be seen.

Risking being caught since PA has been proscribed it’s obviously young people with a strong sense of purpose they risk being locked up for a long time.
Good on them, hope they're never caught especially with the fraudulent use of the justice system being used to silence those who make the genocidal enablers look bad.

The third man attacked that morning by the same mentally deranged knifeman was a Muslim. A man who wasn’t Jewish so his story is largely hidden by the main stream media because it doesn’t fit the agenda. An agenda to stop people protesting the ongoing genocide that is Gaza.

Muslims are not included in the furore from our Politicians and media. . two Jewish people remembered in Rees Mogg’s tribute, in which he invokes Abraham and Alfred the Great

He still hit a police officer with a sledgehammer. If he didn’t intend to cause harm he probably chose the wrong weapon. Got away with one there but hopefully will still get locked up for the lesser charge.

He probably will. I think he had the right to defend himself. That seems to excuse the violent use of excessive force these days. I think it may have worked.

You think he had the right to hit a police officer with a sledgehammer fracturing his spine?
Really?
After my initial support for the group it is this kind of action that says, to me, the group has been hijacked.
I fully endorse civil protest, marches, sit ins etc but the level of violence used in this instance is not something I can support.
How can you condemn violence by israel whilst dishing out violence yourself ?

I thought that I was being pretty obvious with what I was implying. It was a dig at some countries and the people defending those countries who think it's okay to use excessive force. They can't have it both ways.

When the forms of protest you're in favour of are being restricted, this is the alternative. I'd prefer the protests to have an effect, but they aren't.
