Semenyo and Guehi subjected to racist abuse: club statement

71 years old for crying out loud, imagine being that old and still full of hate
 
Fucking hell i thought Everton had moved on from all that shit, i know they had a bad reputation a while back. So much for us getting along better now, it didn't seem like it last night.
As for the so called fans of ours giving it to Guehi as others have said they'll probably be online loons who never go to games. They need tracking down and punishing and banned from every official City online forum and for life from ever having an opportunity of buying a ticket for one of our games.

Everton fans are generally sound. One **** in 50k doesn’t define a fanbase.
 
What an digusting indvidual. Fair enough to Everton in dealing with it straight away. Unfortunately you cannot fully stamp out racism and predjudice.
 
The sad thing is that the moment Guehi made that mistake you knew this would happen. You can also 99% be sure it won’t be from a British based City fans. Disgusting in this day and age that such things are still happening, and still social media platforms do little to stop it.

As for the Everton fan - 71 years old and racially abusing a player. I have no words.

Thankfully, and I hope Jeremy, Antoine and Marc know it well, the vast majority of football fans, including city fans front and centre, don't have time for such idiots.

Hate a player because he scored against you. Hate him because he's paid millions. Hate him because he's playacting all the time. But for skin colour? If your player scores the winner are you really that bothered what colour they are, if they're wearing your teams shirt?

Unfortunately football sometimes devolves back into the murky side of tribalism, and those who are hard of thinking sometimes blur the conversation or confuse identities between team colours and personal grievances.

In all seriousness this is disgusting behaviour. Have seen a copy of some of the SM posts and they truly are a disgrace. If any of them turn out to be UK based accounts then I hope they feel the long arm of the law soon.
