The Squad planning thread

If pep stays and I believe he will those two players won’t get hardly any game time!

We have 28 squad players silva stones are going, now question marks with Ake Marmoush Reijnders and maybe Gonzales! Lot of plates in the air!
Reijnders is being strongly linked to interest from a few teams back in Italy from where he joined us from Milan.

I don't agree that Savio was one of the brightest prospects in Europe. He had one good at season at Girona and that was good enough for us to sign him because it was low risk because of his CFG connection
But he was one of the brightest at that time.

Not sure if € 40m ( or whatever it was ) is low risk

That’s not that logic though is it, stop being dramatic. They’ve won things playing for a club with a level of expectancy, that’s what makes the player. Would you not prefer to sign players who have experience in winning things and don’t take 3 years to finally get to the level required. I mean that’s what we all talk about being important in title races… or carry on with signing Savhinho/Doku’s if you want.
I would bite your hand off for another Doku.

really wonder what we can do with Grealish. cannot see clubs in a long queue for him, obscene salary, rather nothing of a season due to bad injury, despite he started well around August/Sept with some assists.
he has 1 more year at City.
loan him for the last year of contract then release as free agent?:(

Phillips has two more years of contract. :(
rumours are we are talking to hmrc and pension department to make deductions from Txiki's pension due to this transfer....

If Pep stays then Rodri won’t okay 60 plus games and it will probably be Rodri’s last season and Gonzalez will be the preferred alternative, pretty sure he’ll be persuaded to stay carry on learning the position and try to be the one to step into Rodri’s shoes. Reijnders has only been here a season it would be very unusual for us to let him go after just one season.
Ake and Marmoush will most likely want to go and we’ll let them but don’t think we’d force it same with Savinho.
Players will leave but don’t think any will be club led departures. If I was to randomly rate the likelihood of players leaving out of 10 it would be
Bernardo ,Stones. 10
Trafford, Grealish. 9,
Marmoush, Ake. 8
Savinho 7
Gonzalez, Reijnders 6
Phillips 3,
Savinho, there is no chance of him leaving this summer, you don't refuse offers for a player and then you extend his contract until 2031 when he still had 4 years left on his contract only to put him on the transfer market 8 months later.

Jacks book price in the last year of his contract is around £15m which is around his salary. Most sensible thing would be to let him leave on a free. Not that I think city would sanction that as the media would go into meltdown.

I’m not an ITK but the guy that told me about Anderson and Gibbs white that Tolmie said was correct so I do trust this guy with info now.

But he’s told me that we’ve asked about the Coventry right back Milan van Ewijk he is represented by the same agency as Anderson. Thought I’d post it as it’s just random name to be linked with anyone know anything about him?

It is when the funds are staying within CFG. If he was playing for any other club at the time we signed him then we wouldn't have gone anywhere near him in my opinion

Apart from someone saying on here that they have heard from someone who knows someone, what do you know about Van Ewijk and how much have you seen him play?

Thank fuck your not making decisions, the best teams have clinical wingers, Doku is anything but. What have you been watching the last 2 years.
This screams to me that you watch the highlights and not the game. Doku might not have the numbers, it's certainly something he needs to improve on but anybody that watches our games should instantly be able to recognise the impact he has on the team even if he isn't producing numbers.

He's often been the only threat we've had, he's double or tripled marked constantly which opens up space for others. The games he's missed this season, we've looked far less of a threat.
