4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

I distinctly remember one in the first half alone. From a loose/second ball.
Fair enough, I went off of what Fotmob showed for the analytics.

He made 3 recoveries, which might have been what you saw and what they recorded

He was so highly rated in Italy? maybe that’s the prob, time on the ball? must admit he’s been seriously disappointing apart from his debut

The team started playing after he was subbed.

He has flashes and moments - but goes missing for long periods of matches for far too long.

People slate Viana for targeting prem proven signings but this is why. From all the stats, Reijnders was supposed to be a slam dunk signing with little to no acclimatisation but he just hasn’t delivered consistently at any point this season. He’s found it hard to translate his game to the PL.

Would be nice if someone tells him its not Rugby and the aim is to get the ball under the bar, shocking finishing

Largely invisible again and you only see him when he decides to blast the ball over the bar.

He just isn't understanding what his role is in this team.

Had high hopes after his debut at Wolves, but Reijnders has had a disappointing season. He has had limited opportunities recently and I would give him another season before I would get rid, but he needs to improve.

I will always give a player a chance to learn their role under Pep
But I have to admit it is not looking good at the moment. Id forgotten he was playing in the first 30 minutes he was so anonymous.

Just gives me the impression that he doesnt really want to get fully involved in the game, or get himself hurt

Ive never seen a player ghost a fanbase like he did with that debut; id argue its one of the best ive seen in a City shirt, but hes been largely anonymous since

Before leaping to judgement, want to see him play more with either Rodri behind him or with someone that can assume the bulk of the defensive duties. We’ve invested money and time in his development and with patience it will surely be repaid.

I had massive hopes for him when he joined, the new Gundo I thought, and he’s a very likeable character in the squad but it’s hard not to come to the conclusion that he’s crap

Hes not suited for positional play, doesnt seem to know where to be at times and what to do and just drifts.. one of few from Holland that wasnt raised in it, seems far more suited for a Milan side that goes up and down or counters more.
Elite box crasher though, but thats about it in this system. Avoid him with the ball and its not fair on him.
Pep might mold him thoguh... the problem is hes already 28 in the summer.
