Seat Counters 25/26

It isnt cheap I know.

But you say the pubs are packed out, they are not sipping Lemonade. At half time yesterday in S314, as I ventured for my half time wee, many fans who had gone out at 40 minutes and who did not return until 50 minutes, were drinking and the bogs were rancid of smoke, Someone spilt a drink on me ( they did apologise, no problem).

Our tickets were 20 quid each( FOC),

Yes I know some people will genuinely not be able to afford it, but the truth is City will be watched by more fans next season than anytime in their 140 yr history. Some people will choose to spend their money differently and drinking in the pub while kinda watching football is one of those choices.
There's a difference between those who can afford a few pints of the cheapest beer in the local but not a full-blown day out at the match. I agree with your point about those who attend games and don;t watch them though. They can also afford weed and coke without any problem.

They might be spending £30/40 in the pub a far cry from £200 for tickets and travel.

Yes, I get that.
I remember the Spurs final 81, I couldnt afford to go with my mates who were staying over,
There are so many other attractions for the youth to spend their money on now, which we didnt want to indulge in back in the day, when pints were cheap enough.
Football attendance has, and will continue to change. Yesterday I saw a Dad at 72 minutes leaving with his two sons carrying a large bag of club shop loot. Tourists or two young fans of the future.?
I believe clubs have a duty to provide affordable tickets alongside boosting matchday revenue, which is recycyled to pay the wages of the stars people want to watch.
We look back at bygone days with fondness, yet many young match going lads were "naughty", would we want them in the grounds of today ?

i wonder how many people have looked at the tickets over the weekend and decided i cannot afford that and i bet loads are in two minds whether to bite the bullet, the fa should be ashamed
when see prices for yank sports it's only going one way
wembley lower tier first few row 50 i think row behind 80 see we do offer cheap seat just the least amount we can get away with

No guarantee of that, PL attendances likely to be well up but that will be less than a semi and a final. We need to do well in most competitions to set a record.

Yes , I should have stressed average home attendances. To be clear the average home attendance next season will be the highest in the clubs history.
Someone somewhere is doing something right.

A mate from Belfast messaged me on Friday, to say he was in the queue for tickets. Total would have been almost £500 for him and his lad, before any extras. By contrast they paid £75 for two League Cup Final tickets. As I’m sure many have done, he didn’t bother going ahead with it.

Another young fan could be lost, ffs you could have a week away for that, don't blame not bothering.

Created by the poor, stolen by the rich.

This was the packed train back to Blackpool. I see these faces every week, every night match. We have huge support in Blackpool and Fylde. Many of them can’t make this Final. Well done on what you are doing.
I live in Blackpool, originally from Manchester. The Blackpool OSC is one if the biggest in the country and runs 2 or 3 coaches to every home game. Has a great committee and really well run. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary with a meal at the Etihad later this month, guests include Dennis Tueart, David White, Paul Lake, Paul Moulden and the one and only Andy Morrison.
Loads of other Blues in Blackpool who make their own way to matches, myself included. Really is a City stronghold.

Very good to hear. I had not realised it was such a stronghold.
People do travel from far and wide on a regular basis.
