Before I start my rant I would like a shoutout to West Ham after todays performance, deserved something from the game and ended up as much aggrieved as we are.
Back in the day when I used to attend games you hardly knew any of the refs names, the game happened on the pitch between two teams and a ref.
Sure they werent all great (mainly overweight and blind), but any mistakes seemed just that, a genuine mistake.
Nowadays I know all their names and fcking dread every single one of em.
Added to that, teams get screwed over by var, people 200 miles away from the game, watching on a screen, its them who decide the outcome of the game.
They often get it wrong even though they have every angle and graphic that modern technology allows, and as much time as necessary to get the correct outcome.
The game suffers with blatant inconsistencies veiled under being "subjective".
Then, a compliant media present it as ok to the masses including a ref watch segment where a respected(bent red) ex ref explains(at the behest of his paymasters) how a shit decision is actually the correct one.
Anyone complaining gets labelled a crackpot, or fined if they are affiliated to the wronged team.
New laws are introduced every season, overused early on then relaxed when it suits as the season pans out.
Needs a massive fcking reset now they have their "new name on the trophy".
They might have already decided that they want the three domestic trophies shared out to three different clubs.
I actually wouldnt be surprised by that.
Who knows, a bit like when they wanted a new name on the fa cup last year and got it (at our expence again).
Corrupt as fck, already dreading next season and the "get rags back to the top" plan that the pl are working on as I type.
After all, the pl product benefits from a strong man utd.
Hope we have totally fcked these re the 115.
