If you look at the first article you get a different picture about immigration than you might expect.

Basically we are on course of net migration and a weaker economy apparently it’s only temporary but I don’t see why it should go back to net immigration let alone back to the high levels we use to have. Policy would have to reverse and the government won’t do that even tho net migration is bad for the economy especially when you factor in the problems we have with the aging population and lack of workers for other reasons.

I notice Farage didn’t mention immigration when celebrating his victories.

O and for anyone mentioning the small boats deportations are up deals with France done Hotel use down.

What should be done about immigration ? And who or what will Farage move on to next ? Will the government get any credit for net migration or criticisms ? Such as why are you making all the rich people leave ? Or maybe let’s go back to having more immigration for the sake of the economy ?

The guy is a grifter a charlatan and a fraudster...he is also a tweed donning Toad of Toad hall faced narcissistic toff ****
Why would he care about serious stuff?
These elections are a protest vote against Starmer which in turn has fomented a fragmentation of the British political landscape. But in essence with Reforms vote share down 4% there 74% who not want extreme right wing flag shaggers and 57 who support anti- conservative parties. Has absolutely no fucking mandate whatsoever other than that handed to him by a corrupt voting system now compounded by 6 party politics.

Fuck me there’s some cry arsing in this post.

No mandate for what? His party have stood in local elections and won a majority of councils, that’s it, it’s not a general election so he’s not received a mandate to lead the country.

If he wins the next GE, he will have a mandate. Or you could just do what Polanski has said and have a society that doesn’t include those who disagree with you, go full Bolshevik if you want.

If you really wanted to be constructive about Farage, you could have highlighted the biggest gift/donation/bribe in UK political history of £5million, he should be facing charges for that but it’s been ignored.

I had a talk today with someone who was going to judge him now for what he said he was going to do when he was in power, I reminded this lad that Farage isn't yet in power and he can't realistically do anything about anything unless the party in power adopts some of his stratergies.

The party in power is Labour and they couldn't arrange a bring and buy party at the moment so that isn't happeneing.

Immigration to an economy, especially an advanced service economy like ours, is like blood flow. Cut it off and the economy will regress. The growing elderly population, declining birth rate and the economically inactive also requires immigration.

In short, there is a problem, we know what the answer is, no likes the answer, ergo everyone is unhappy.

If immigration is reduced, then the target will be green energy which is woke and therefore bad and let’s pump more oil in the North Sea and start fracking the countryside, remove environmental protections and controls etc etc.

There is always some new fangled thing that people like hate and will vote to eliminate.

Sounds like every other politician I've ever seen then.

I think most on here are confusing with illegal immigration.
Don't get me started on the scam that is "green" energy.

I wonder if this is what Starmer will be talking about in his upcoming speech, or that the UK has gone 5th in international economic terms, or that we saw a distinct uptick in growth just prior to the US/Israel attack on the Middle East?

Either way, it will be ignored by the main media and SM channels, drowned out by the sound of doom and gloom that everybody is now accustomed to hearing.

Tougher new laws on immigration by the Tories and Labour were always going to have an impact following the Brexit wave, but understanding that would take critical thinking, or at least some honest reporting of where we were going. I’m not sure we’re going to get any of those in the near future and the country will continue to suffer as certain parties continue to pit people against each other.

We have improved economic indicators according to Stephen Kinnock, a Labour MP, while he was being shredded by Andrew Neill on Times Radio yesterday.
But the mainstream media don't talk about such things, they are only interested in simple headlines and slogans such as Get Brexit Done and Stop The Boats. - And unfortunately that is all far too many voters are interested in.
Farage is a by-word for corruption, but the hard of thinking, or possibly scared of thinking, just hide behind the "they're all the same" mantra. These fuckers have the vote, and Farage know how to press their buttons just like his hero Trump does across the pond.
How many local stories did you hear during the election campaign for local councils? It was all anti-immigration, or anti two party system.

Was just thinking what we really need is another farage immigration thread.

It started a few weeks ago.

It's interesting that spending on welfare in the UK is among the lowest in Europe and hasn't changed as a percentage of our GDP in decades. !0% or so.

£330B today, nearly half on pensions, and a significant proportion of universal credit payments being paid to working people.

Stripping out student visas and those form Ukraine and Hong Kong, migration is now around 75000 so in the 10s of 000s that Cameron promised. Except it's Labour that mainly achieved it. As for the British people leaving, the tope 3 destinations are Poland, Romania and Bangladesh, not the likes of Dubai and Australia as the RW press would have us all believe. Mainly people who came here, got British citizenship and have now decided to go back to their roots.

Surely youre not saying that the frothing frenzy of Farage is a lie based on fiction?

I'm in Cluj this week and the Romanian craft bar owners tell me about blokes from Newcastle moving there and "drinking 5 pints a night" and I can't blame them.

Eastern European countries like Poland, Romania and Bulgaria seem to be reversing the trend of emigration to the UK, modern vibrant cities.

That just plainly isn't true at all, every list I have seen online doesn't back your statement up at all.

The top 10 most popular countries for British expats to relocate to are Australia, Spain, the United States, Canada, France, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates.

I can't believe you believe it TBH, it's probably because you want to believe it.
