Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

I stayed last night. I’m glad I did. As for people leaving at 3-1, that’s their choice.

They missed the 2 goals that made it 3-3, which got City a point, that could still win the title for City.

We fight till the end.

As for the away atmosphere, it wasn’t the best. Poor to good throughout the match.

As for Everton’s atmosphere. Until Everton scored you could hear a pin drop from their fans, bar the odd chant of Everton, Everton. Everton fans were loud when Everton were winning.

The stadium looked great. The concourses were quite cramped. As for getting out of the ground, what an utter joke. Both sets of fans coming out together and meeting up in what I can only describe as a large crush. If it had kicked off, bar some good natured banter as the fans left the stadium, it could have been dangerous. There isn’t much around the ground bar industrial and port related sites.
It’s been a disappointing season home+away for atmosphere from us this season.

Napoli, Liverpool, the first part of the Madrid game and then Arsenal at home have all been great. Pretty much all the rest have been flat.

Wembley for the EFL Cup final was great second half (a bit quiet first half). FA Cup semi was pathetic.

And while we’re usually top class away from home most weeks, only really Fulham, Leeds, Chelsea and Burnley in the PL and Newcastle in the Cups have been any cop this season from our travelling support. From the start of the season to Christmas was our worst run for ages.

I thought the away end was okay to decent yesterday, but nowhere near as good as our away ends at Burnley or Chelsea.

I noticed the average age was a lot higher than most of our away ends, and we don't half have some miserable old cunts. Getting angry at young lads for wanting to stand together. To think these were the same blokes that used to be pinned shoulder to shoulder in the Kippax.

I'm getting on myself, however no one can deny that our fantastic away ends have been driven by young adults enjoying themselves, we should be supporting this.

If you're someone who gets all miserable at our younger support trying to create an atmosphere, then please fuck off you're not wanted.
Some of our older fans who sell / pass their tickets on or just give the game a miss will have turned up last night. A bit like the last game at Upton Park when we had a much different following compared to the rest of that season. The points system locks them in at the top of ticket allocations which is fair dos under the current system.

I thought the City fans in the SSL3 away end were decent in the 1st half. They were quieter in the 2nd half.

It wasn’t that bit of the third tier that was singing, it was 315-7.
It was, because I was watching them and listening to them chanting from the front of CBL3. The chanting was coming from the away end on SSL3 at times in the first half.

I could see quite a few Blues singing in there. I remember because I was pleasantly surprised.

There continued to be a group of Blues in the third tier of tue East Stand (near the away end) who really get behind the lads in the second halves.

yeah I heard them up there and saw them ......they always got behind the team when I was up there too. Right next to the away fans.

Thought that thick **** with the arsenal shirt on in with the Brentford lot got off lightly. I'm sure Brentford would not be happy with a div like that pointing to the arsenal badge. Imagine a red doing that in our away end.

"Who the fuck do you support?"

Yes top support from them for chunks of the game.

Good job Prestwich has been scaled back or that lad in the Arsenal would have spent the rest of the weekend with the compulsive “making the cross” priest and the Utd Stand crew

A few years ago I was returning on the train from a championship game between Burnley and Brentford. The train was packed with Brentford fans who to my astonishment kept singing abuse against the rags. This surprised me until I realised as well as Brentford they were Chelsea boys. I suppose as Brentford had been 3rd or 4th level for years they were the local team for a lot of Chelsea. Anyway can't criticise have always watched my home town Fleetwood as well as City and Burnley when I lived there.

So was I. :-)

Mainly to the right side of the away end. Stood up, singing, and clapping. The left side looked like they were sat down more, and we're quieter. It was hard to tell from the middle of CBL3.

ENHANCED SINGING SECTION - North-stand pre-registration - Cheapest Tickets

It was good to hear parts of the South Stand upper (level 3) generating more noise against Brentford on Saturday. It made a noticeable difference coming from the back as it did at Wembley and as it can do in the new North Stand.

There is good news -

*relocation process - so far, existing fans in the North Stand have reported positively on their re-locations.
cheapest tickets - the new North Stand tickets in the safe standing section will be the cheapest in the stadium for all age groups together with those at the rear of the South Stand.
*magnificent, big, one level- the new North Stand looks superb. When it is full of home support only, the sound that can be created from here will give better backing to the team.

Help lead, build and sustain noise inside the Stadium

The Club, working with fans groups as part of ongoing discussions, want to gauge demand for a condensed section within the North Stand safe standing section for fans to build noise.

Interest in being part of an ‘Enhanced Singing Section’ can be registered here-

The League Cup has been won, the FA Cup Final is coming up, an outside chance of the PL remains, and we have a superb new North Stand and developments at CITY.

What Saturday showed is that we could do with safe standing seats across the back of SSL3. Say 1000 safe standing seats?

I doubt it will ever happen as City will be happy with 3 separate safe standing sections inside the Etihad.

East Stand block 308 -309 every match this season have been singing and leading the way ,South stand lower tier have been very disappointing this season.probably singing to much on concourse and not in the stand .

South stand hasn’t been disappointing this season.

Hopefully some of the fans who don’t sing on SSL1 will relocate to NSL2, and new singers will take their place on SSL1. :-)

I think that could make a huge difference, as we saw at Wembley with the standing sections in the top tier.

It would be great if they made the back 8/9 rows of ss3 standing

Apart from a handful of games this season, SSL1 has been as flat as I can remember. And it’s been the worst ever season in SSL1 for empty spaces at kick off, from about 35-55 mins either side of half time and for early leavers.

When it’s been ‘at it’, it’s been fantastic, but there have been about 21 of our 27 home games have barely had any atmosphere with SSL1 not leading the way at all.

First time I have been in 314. I was really surprised at what I thought was a good atmosphere.
I have toured the Stadium this season, been in nearly all the nooks and cranny's, including a couple of corporate, and a few 9320. East 1,2,and 3, Cb1, and 2, Ss, 1,2,and 3.
There seem alot of areas where people are ready to make a noise , but not in enough number to make a difference.

I agree there are lots of Blues itching to make a difference to the atmosphere. Many Blues are already playing their part like you say.!Theybare not always helped by the acoustics and division of singers between the Kippax Corner and the South Stand. There were top efforts from 308-309 and 314 and some other parts of the ground on Saturday.

Having extra singers in the North Stand will help songs spread around the ground. The end of the dispute about the relocated fans will help the vibe too. 1894 and the OSC are working behind the scenes to help fans who want to move to the expanded North Stand.

This is one of my main arguments about why I think the North Stand can still be a success.

Some people seem to think that if you want singers in the North Stand, then you have to steal them from the south stand, but this absolutely isn't the case.

There are so many people around the ground who sing their hearts out at away games, and are itching to sing at home games, but are just simply in the wrong part of the ground.

If a load of this type move to the new stand, it could make a real difference

I do think the kippax corner has stepped up this season. It’s been much better than previous years.
