I think the way it should have been framed is if you attend as a season ticket holder you get a free cup game next season. If you are a member a half price ticket should it open for Villa

I have been trying to get through to the ticket office to check, for Villa, however according to the website the allocation of season tickets for next season in the new stand will be based on attending 35 matches over the last 3 seasons which I haven’t done so that’s me out currently.The 4000 extra flexi tickets will be split 50/50 with young fans so effectively 2000 flexis are up for grabs for those fans who meet the criteria.
Really frustrating that barriers are there to committing to next season-the price of success and not keeping up attending has done for me,life issues got in the way and the door seems to be shut for when I am now able to commit fully.

WTF is this? Why can't they just sell new season tickets and get some new or lapsed fans into the new stand? It's just barriers all the way.

I wonder if we will sell out, with that criteria. 35 games even over 3 seasons is a lot in my opinion - especially when you factor in the cost of match day tickets.

Maybe they’ll gradually reduce the criteria?

It will be like most sales, start with a high criteria and gradually reduce it until they sell out.

Theyare also "preaching to the converted". These people are going to most matches anyway. To increase attendences thjey need to be attracting new fans and offering additional season tickets, as a plus 1 to existing holders, or just as new sales full stop.

I know what they are doing of course. It's as simple as them making more revnue from single ticket sales. But demand is not there right now for several reasons.

I agree, demand clearly isn’t there right now for a lot of these games. You only have to look at the palace game tonight.

Like you say, the new season tickets appeal to people who are already regularly attending. If you’re only able to attend a few games a season, wheres the appeal?

Just my opinion, but they’ve not bothered with ‘legacy’ fans for years (pricing/ restrictions) so when they desperately need them to fill the ground, they aren’t coming back easily
