FA Youth Cup winners: 2-1 win v rags, match thread / Thurs 14th May 2026

Just bought the MEN this morning. No report of the game. The daily mirror has a short paragraph. You know full well if the rags had won there would be a massive report and massive headlines about it. Just prior to the game a black guy presenter was giving his opinion on players to look out for. He mentioned 5, 3 from United and 2 from City. Our most dangerous players McAidoo, Heskey and Floyd Samba weren't mentioned. It was Teddy Lamb and Leke Drake (good centre half though he is). It reminded me many years ago in the lead up to the U17 W.orld Cup when a so called expert was picking out players to look out for. It wasn't Foden (who anybody who followed youth football knew was England's stand out player at that level). No, it was a rag player Angel Gomes, who the guy said his name would be on everybody's lips by the end of the tournament. Tho only player everybody was talking about was Philip Walter Foden. I think Gomes is playing for some on crap French team at the moment.
Gomes on loan at wolves i think. Squad player only

The absolute state of this ****, ex rag olaoyer too, no wonder everybody hates them.

Taking a picture of a scoreboard means you should get jumped now?

They’re cretins. If you’re born in greater Manchester and you choose that lot, there’s at least something wrong with you. Some of my good mates are Utd fans and generally sound until when it comes to football it’s like Mr Hyde comes out and they suddenly turn into the most arrogant obnoxious blokes in the pub.

They take themselves so seriously.

Saw some Utd morons moaning on Twitter that we’d signed all of our players from other clubs - whereas in fact 7 of the 11 starters have been with City since they were U8’s
They were moaning our team cost £8m whilst there’s cost nothing, not true and only spouted once they had lost

I noticed Omar Berrada sat in the stands last night. I wonder if he was embarrassed by the behaviour of his supporters in front of mothers and children and if he would care to apologise?

Great team performance.
Did our youngsters dive for that penalty claim

Looked a certain pen where I was sitting.

Didn't watch the game live. Managed to watch the first 37 minutes of the 1st half before I had to run an errands. How the ref could book Dante Headley for diving is an absolute pisstake. He was pushed quite forcibly in the back. You could offer Dante a million pounds to stay on his feet in that situation and he wouldn't have been able to.
