Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

I think he got it wrong with the starting XI. Marmoush should never have been anywhere near it. Delighted that he did something about it at HT. Bringing Kova on for a clearly struggling Rodri changed the game IMO. We were being overrun in the middle of the park and Kova gave us legs.
A half-time tactical sub from Pep is incredibly rare, which tells you he knew he'd made a mistake.

Trophies per season (without CS):

Pep: 1,7
Ferguson: 1,1

Pep is in a league of his own.

Yep. I think we should just be grateful that he knew and corrected it. I think previously, he possibly lets that go on for another 20 mins after HT and that might have been the difference between winning it or not.

We didn't get any better with Cherki coming on for Marmoush, in fact we were worse and we couldn't keep the ball in the first 20 minutes of the second half , only when Kova came on did we control the game.

Once again the Cherki sub didn't change the game, it was the Kova one, so looking at it now I don't think it was a mistake Starting Marmoush.

I don’t disagree. The issue is that selecting Marmoush was an absolute brain-fart. He had done nothing to deserve the start. How do you go from barely getting 90 seconds on the pitch for months, to starting FA Cup finals? It had Pep overthinking it written all over it. Thankfully he realised he had made a huge mistake and sorted it at HT.

Marmoush has scored in his last two league games, Cherki has disappointed a bit since the Arsenal game, I don't think it was a brainfart to start him, but the tactics in the first half weren't suited to having both Haaland and Marmoush up top, should've been more direct and played more balls in behind instead of the slow possession where both were passengers.

Stay and lets go for bigger ears next year boss. This team has huge potential - two trophies (maybe 3...) in a transitional season

Yeah he was just on in the interview with TNT where he expected Chelsea to play a four man defence and only realised a minute after kick off
