Trophy Parade in Manchester | Mon 25th May

Don’t be such a wet blanket!

We went 35 years without winning a major trophy, and every one we win should be celebrated to the fullest.

The women have won the WSL for the first time in a decade, and the U18s have done the Double. They deserve to have their achievements recognised properly.
Realistically, how many are going to celebrate the achievements of the women's team?
They could have had their own celebration on the Joie Stadium for those interested.

We've had enough parades to celebrate league titles to be doing them for cup wins now. Very different situation to 2011.
Parade the trophies after the villa game and then have them on display somewhere at the ground in the weeks after for people to go and have a photo taken with them. Job done.

Tin hat on but I think we're at a stage now where we should only do this sort of stuff for league title wins and champions league wins.

No way, celebrate every trophy!

For many clubs even a league cup win would be the highlight of their decade. Make the most of these days, celebrate and enjoy our success.

or you could just not go, but let those who do want to celebrate, celebrate

Looking forward to this. Not been to the last couple, we usually go on holiday the day after the season ends but we’re a couple of weeks later this year. It’s a unique opportunity to showcase the Academy team, the Women’s team and the first team’s achievements at a single event and I’m sure that will make for a brilliant atmosphere.

The contributors to this thread largely fit into two categories :

Those who spend far too much time online and thus are worried that internet saddos might criticise aspects of the planned parade, making their online life a bit annoying

Those who live life in the real world who, whether they’re going to it or not, see a parade as a happy day out for blues of all ages

23,5000 fans will be inside the Coop Live Arena and will miss the parade, unless the event is happening much later afterwards, and giving fans the time to get to the Coop Live Arena from the parade route.

As someone who followed City for much of the 80s and 90s home and away - winning anything still feels very special. We should never get entitled. We are living the dream - even if the Match day Forum don’t realise it.

Have they announced timings yet?

More i think about the event, more i think it's being done for the benefit of the women's team more than the men.
Surely they can bring the 2 trophies to the villa game and parade them on the lap of honour.
Sounds to me like they want to promote the women's team so doing an event that includes them ticks the equality box.

Think just the even at the co op with no parade would be better unless we do win the league.
No really, the women’s team are having a Champions homecoming event this evening at the Albert hall.

Many can’t afford to come to the games. Others just can’t get tickets.

The parade gives the club and the players a chance to say, "Thank you" to the city and the people of Manchester.

It’s not costing us, the supporters, anything, apart from our time and expenses to reach the parade route.

I just don’t understand the negativity.

Exactly, I savoured yesterday, and took a last look at Wembley, we’ve been spoiled, post Pep who knows when we will be back.

Arena show will realistically only be about 16k with a normal stage set up

Don't mind a parade, fuck all else better to do on a bank holiday Monday. Much rather be going on the piss in town full of blues instead of walking around Tatton Park or Dunham Massey whilst the rags have got to suck it up again and watch from behind their sofas and tell us all on social media how nobody turned up and they had more at the Nags Head with Boylies DJ set for the Brunoooooooo's Assist record party.

I hope we never get above ourselves and think why are we having a parade for 2 cup wins just because its not the treble or a title or a CL. Take every opportunity to wallow in our success, get all the young kids in blue shirts and let the rags choke on it. Imagine if we did manage to win the title as well. Players going off on holidays before the World Cup there would be no time to fit it in in so I reckon this is not only to celebrate the whole clubs success at mens, womens and youth level but with one eye on what if....

It could end up being the biggest parade yet. Believe Blues Believe!
