North Stand Construction Discussion

The amount of piss boiling this new stand is generating is remarkable. I’ve even had Burnley fans asking if we justify expanding our ground.

Credit to City for undertaking a project of this scale in the face of the kangaroo court charges, an economic downturn and misinformation about ticket prices and season card availability. Part of the latter was self-inflicted and I’m glad a lot of top Blues have already relocated to seats they are happy with.

We are very close to playing Villa in a 60k plus crowd on Sunday. Please support the main Test Event if you can

Went yesterday with my lad. Free food and drink, so why not!
Pictures really don't show the scale of this stand.
I assume everything went well, as the last part was to do an emergency (fire drill) exit. I hope we wasn't supposed to hang around outside afterwards, as we just fooked off home.

It’s interesting that they’ve gone with a light beige flooring colour rather than grey, a dark colour, or City blue. It makes the concourse area look brighter and roomier from the picture.

Turf Moor is a total dump of a ground, especially the away end that is a safety death trap. A disaster waiting to happen. I am amazed they have a safety licence for a stand which has narrow tunnels where there is always a crush.

Photos look great, it's a shame about Joe Mercer Way and the surrounding area

Do you think they will tarmac it or continue Medlock Square all the way down

I would copy Wembley Way with mono block all the way up to the former gas works with trees

I don’t think they’ll plant trees on JMW there, it gets quite busy after games and will narrow it for fans leaving the game, AND get in the way of the little OAP shuttle carts. Especially unlikely on the arena side in my opinion. I think it’s better to keep it as open as possible, maybe a few benches and planters. It also would kill the sight lines to the stadium and screens to people walking up toward the ground.

Might not be finished. Wouldn’t be judging off those pics as the fit out will be continued all summer.
