I’m obviously missing something but if it’s an open secret within the Club and the players know then why the continued charade about one more year? Why wouldn’t the Club simply confirm he’s leaving? It’s not how City do things now. Until I see it announced on the Club’s website I’m holding out for him staying at least another year.

It will all be to do with this title race. Pep won't want any distractions whatsoever. Full focus on Bournemouth and then Villa. Look at all the noise thats going on now it's come out. Romano doing here we goes on Maresca and everything and we haven't finished the season yet.

Clubs announcing a manager leaving during the season affects what happens on the pitch. Liverpool were leading the PL when Klopp said he was off. They dropped off and finished 3rd, this club is run different to others. The team and results are paramount to everything and that comes from Pep. If he is going nothing sabotages what happens with the 1st team preparations.

Kompany has won the championship and won titles for Bayern, which most managers do. Alonso had that great season at Leverkusen, but he’s not proven anything in England. Maresca has a good track record of winning trophies in his short managerial career so far.
