Pep to leave at the end of the season

A few have replied to my earlier post, saying that Maresca had minimal say in transfers at Chelsea. Which is true. I'm just wondering how much say he'll have at City?* I doubt he'll have the same say as Pep presumably had.

*Assuming he's getting the gig, of course!
Viana has the biggest say on transfers. That’s the reason his job exists. So that recruitment strategy remains coherent despite managerial change. Pep had input, Maresca will have input but Viana ultimately makes the decisions. With or without Pep.

Not exactly been handled well from the club and Pep has it?
They've handled as well as can be expected. No problems at all from me. Things as monumental as this leak, and this has been leaking slowly for a long time now. I'm really not sure how you can imply some kind of criticism of Pep here too. That's the daftest thing I've read today.

He also had minimal say in who he picked, apparently,. As for at City, first the squad is young so there won't be loads of transfers secondly he'll be consulted and work with Vianna same as Pep, maybe slightly less but if he says he needs an experienced defender, they might disagree on the player, but they won't be going out spending on a young wide attacker.

Just got to celebrate with him when it happens. Never in a million years thought he would stay this long or be quite so spectacularly successful. Stuff of dreams.
Obviously it was going to end at some point. It might be now.
I’m not going to be upset it’s over, just be grateful it happened at all.

I did wonder whether the club knows whoever follows is just going to be compared to Pep, and Marseca is destined for failure - then whoever comes in after him can pick up the pieces.

Hope I'm wrong, hope Maresca does well, and I will give my full support - but I do wonder whether he's being thrown under the bus a little, as he is a bit of an odd appointment.
I mean, he was assistant coach when we won the treble so we seem to be going down the succession route rather than overhaul, also can't see how he can be thrown under the bus given the position he is going to be put in squad wise. It is not like when Moyes took over them and was given the ruins.

I'm upset as fuck. Sorry.

I remember a couple of months back when the journos 'leaked' that City had lost the FFP case, too.
The fanny-wiping on here was unbearable.

By the way, do City happen to be playing a very important match in the title race tonight?
What convenient timing to 'drop' a story like this, eh?
Gutted, the media are a disgrace and this has been dropped from their side great timing but it's over mate.

IF he was staying there'd have been a response by now.

I just wonder having seen the throbbers playing shite again and timewasting like fuck against bloody Burnley whether Pep can have the last laugh on Sunday...

Obviously gutting that Peps off, we’ll never see his like here again, but is anyone else actually quite excited to see what a new manager can do with this squad rather than pure doom and gloom?
I reckon a guy like Maresca who’s more direct in his attacking approach might work wonders with the likes of Marmoush, Semenyo, Doku, even Savinho. And that’s not even mentioning Erling who despite his goals has often looked isolated and starved of service post treble season.

Obviously not expecting anything close to peak Pep ball dominance or trophy haul, but it’ll be a different City.

Or it could very easily all go tits up and we go down the United post Ferguson route. One things for certain, next season will be interesting

Spot on mate and that explains the timing of the shithouse media breaking it to a degree imho.
Well it shouldn't. If anything it should fire then up more. The players have known for a while now ,you can be certain of that. I'm sure he's confided in the players he trusts most.

Why do people say daft stuff like this? The players are fighting for the premier league title. They will have suspected or even known about this for along time.
It's not daft, this sort of thing has caused issues at other clubs, we aren't immune to these types of things just because it's City
