Pep to leave at the end of the season

He has one year left on his contract; of course he's going to be leaving us at some point in the future, that's obvious.

City play Bournemouth tonight, a game which, if we drop points, Arsenal become champions. I wonder how the press can disrupt the harmony at the club... oh look, it's working!
Oh 100% on the deliberate attempt at derailing us ahead of a big game, see my previous take on that.

But still, it is pretty evident he is leaving at the end of this season now.

I look forward to Pep’s book about City and PL. hopefully doesn’t hold back
Of yes please the final act of Pep’s stunning City career
Don’t they say revenge is a dish best served cold, the red shirted cartel, the acquiescent PL, the manipulated PIGMOL & the fucking biased hyena media pack can all be outed once and for all
It could end up being his finest work

Obviously gutting that Peps off, we’ll never see his like here again, but is anyone else actually quite excited to see what a new manager can do with this squad rather than pure doom and gloom?
I reckon a guy like Maresca who’s more direct in his attacking approach might work wonders with the likes of Marmoush, Semenyo, Doku, even Savinho. And that’s not even mentioning Erling who despite his goals has often looked isolated and starved of service post treble season.

Obviously not expecting anything close to peak Pep ball dominance or trophy haul, but it’ll be a different City.

Or it could very easily all go tits up and we go down the United post Ferguson route. One things for certain, next season will be interesting
Scousers won the league after Klopp left. No club can be compared to what Fergie did at United. He knew it was the end and fucked off. City operate at a different level.

It breaks on the eve of game at Bournemouth. I do not like that.

I don't know how our players will focus now unless Pep has already told them.

Why wouldnt they be able to focus? They're highly paid elite footballers who are blocking out external hysterical chit chat 365 days a year. They will have known this for ages. This isnt coming as a shock to them.

Remember the Pearce debacle, everyone wanted him as manager, and look what happened there

Agree with pretty much all that apart from the club wanting the change. Yes we should have probably done better in Europe but still think the club would have wanted him here another 3 years had it been Pep’s wish to stay.
Yes I think it's a long shot, but who knows? I think there will have been some pressure there, the club want the absolute best and that's the prize that we haven't been able to make ours, notwithstanding the fact that we draw RM every season of course which doesn't help. You need to be able to beat the top teams but you need a bit of luck along the way.

Talksport calling this the most significant managerial departure in history, more so than when Taggart left United.

I wonder if the tarquins has drawn, or lost last night if this announcement would have been made?

Absolutely. Don't know if Maresca will work or not but looking forward to seeing how we evolve.

I adore Pep and would rather he stay on but people are talking about a fall off like a we didn't start falling off couple of years ago. Dare I say, with a fully committed Pep we would have walked the league this year. Not that I think he's downed tools by any means whatsoever but his demeanor has been far, far more relaxed this season.

Regardless, he's leaving us with a fantastic young squad that any manager would be licking their lips at the prospect of working with.

I don't expect us to ever reach the same heights of breaking records season after season but those times ended after the treble season anyway and I can't wait to see how we develop.

Not exactly been handled well from the club and Pep has it?
In what way? The story only broke late last night, it's only 10 a.m. now, give it chance. Are they supposed to stop what they're doing an arrange an immediate press conference? FFS.

The really frustrating part with how this has dropped and if the players didn't know, is how the fuck are the players going to get themselves off the floor for tonights game? Players will be gutted, especially if they didn't know and even up to the weekend they thought Pep was staying.

I'm more concerned about where he goes next. If we're going to be pushing for the CL I wouldn't want to come up against any team he's in charge of.

And as unlikely as it may seem at this moment, I'm dreading him signing for another PL club at some point in the future. You never know in football, if the job and salary are big enough...
