Enzo Maresca

If not Maresca who else is there? There are no obvious alternatives that I can think of. It certainly isn't an exciting appointment, but he does know both the club and English football. Maybe excitement isn't everything?

Maybe try and steal Carrick - he's in big demand apparently.

Think he deserves his own thread.
“IF” he takes over i am really confident and i think he’ll surprise a lot of people.

“Maresca, who won the Club World Cup and Conference League while securing Champions League qualification during his only full season at Stamford Bridge.

He worked directly under Guardiola during City's treble-winning 2022-23 campaign and played a key role in the club's academy prior to joining the first team.

He left City in 2023 to manage Leicester, whom he guided to promotion to the Premier League in his only season”

He’s a winner
He know’s the club inside out
Let’s fucking have it!
We’ll win the Treble next season!!!!
Maresca is a continuity candidate. The whole club from under 11s to the women’s team plays possession based football. We have the best Academy in the world playing that way. The club will not undo all that hard work at all levels. So Maresca was the obvious choice. He knows everyone so there will be no disruption in any department. I am optimistic it will work.

Does he have that Brain Fart before a big final ? or turning attacking midfield players into full-backs

Kalvin Phillips knows the club "inside out" - shall we give him a new contract?
Feel like he probably knows the club outside in. Wouldn't be surprised if his security pass gets rejected at the door at this point.

Any pictures of him winning a trophy just have a convenient Puma logo over his face.

People are forgetting he had 1 win in 7 games before walking from chelsea. So lets not get carried away that he was doing amazing at chelsea before walking.

But managing Chelsea is like trying to climb Everest wearing nothing but Crocs on your feet, with avalanches halting any kind of progress you can make.

Completely different to managing us.

The only person with the personality, drive and charisma that that gets anywhere near Pep is Vinnie. He knows the club inside out and the style of play needed. He loves the club and the city and would be the ideal choice for me., though would he want to leave Bayern? Not sure.

If Enzo is the choice, it is because the club have observed him at close quarters - his understanding of the game, tactics, man-management, integrity, passion, media handling, and his adaptability. He was highly regarded when recruited and went on to have an excellent academy record. He then made an enormous difference at Leicester and won trophies with Chelsea. I will be sad to see Pep leave, but I will be excited to witness what Enzo can deliver with a vibrant young squad and a total behind-the-scenes support.

There will also be a succession plan in place because we are a world-class operation.

Sad that Pep is going. Thankful he was here for 10 years and has been the best manager English football has seen during their first 10 years. Irreplaceable in many ways. However, I trust the club to do what is right for City. I don't know Maresca personally, but he must be good enough if Khaldoon has signed this off. Good luck Pep. Come on City.
