Pep to leave at the end of the season

No he doesn't, but I think City might want to break now if he is adamant that he is leaving in 2027. Pep seems to love his job so I am hopeful. He has rebuilt a side full of potential but it has not yet won the league title or Champions League but with a little work, it could happen soon. I think he might want to be part of that. The 'project' at City remains exciting.
I don't see why they would.

A world cup year, little time for another manager to prepare. Team still in transition. 115 charges still hanging over the club. Nobody as good as he is, as a manager. Nobody as loyal as he is as a person, should shit hit the fan. Challenges for trophies without fail. A year is a long time where anything can happen, including further extensions.

No way do the club juat choose to break with him now, because he is staying just one more year, that they have already agreed to when they signed the contract.

If he goes, which is evident he will, it will be because he decided it snd the club respect that, as opposed to breaking with it now to get Maresca in while he is available.

If you think finishing second with both Cups is a crap season then you are going to be very disappointed in the future.
My comment was specifically about our league form alone because that was what was mentioned. Arsenal have won the league with 82 points, a total Pep and his team normally easily piss.
I won't be disappointed in the future because our next manager won't be Pep and I specifically said I am comparing us to the standards Pep has set for himself. There will be a drop off but hopefully not as far and as long as when the piss can left the rags.

Bizarre. On one hand you have journalists confirming his departure and the other hand, Pep himself not confirming it.

Just seems to me like Pep is undecided as of present, based on his words, despite what the journalists are saying.

I don’t really want Maresca anyway, but IF it is his camp providing the leaks, then I hope the club tell him to get fucked and completely wash their hands of him.
id take anything printed or said in our paid off media with pinch of salt they've tried and tried to unsettle city for years and are still doing

Was chatting to a few Chelsea lads on Saturday on train about Enzo Maresca. They were saying when pressure hits he can get a bit negative, he`s not really Manchester City standard either.
We always hear the club goes for the very best, and if that’s the case then surely Luis Enrique has to be someone we at least speak to. For me he’s the standout option. Maresca thats a serious drop off
And just like Pep, Enrique doesn't fuck about with inflated egos no matter how big the player (see the talk he gave Mbappe), everything he does is for the benefit of the team, not the individuals within it.

You could say this is obvious for any manager to do but many at high profile clubs end up cowering to players or struggle in doing this without a certain aura about them, and I'd say Enrique certainly has that.

Ask yourself why City approached Maresca twice months ago.

Ask yourself if Maresca was professional or not in disclosing the interactions before someone else leaked them.

I’m not saying City were trying to get him for this summer or that they knew Pep was leaving, but they were definitely preparing for the potential eventuality.

How would you feel if Pep knew, the Club knew and Maresca had already agreed a deal, or even signed a deal already?

Pep has only said he’s going to talk to his Chairman this week. I’ll assume they’ll pay him up for his last year and he’ll go on his hols on Tuesday!

So why has he gone backwards? 5 days ago it was "I have a contract and will be here next season" now it's "I need to speak to the chairman".

Trying to wrestle back the control of his own narrative? (Even though he may very well have already decided)?

I guess it's not completely implausible that he could do the mother of all u-turns, given how emotional and unpredictable Pep can be, but it seems pretty unlikely to me. Would love to be wrong though, especially seeing how giddy rival fans have been about his departure!
It would be rather funny and a huge fuck you.

Agree the club want to announce it themselves. As they should

Disagree it has anything to do with traffic or generating revenue off it.
Well, not the main reason, but traffic and clicks are our main currency when it comes to selling advertising, so that shouldn’t be underestimated. And they probably don’t want it to clash with the launch of the new kit either, which is Puma’s big day.
