I don't see why they would. No he doesn't, but I think City might want to break now if he is adamant that he is leaving in 2027. Pep seems to love his job so I am hopeful. He has rebuilt a side full of potential but it has not yet won the league title or Champions League but with a little work, it could happen soon. I think he might want to be part of that. The 'project' at City remains exciting.
A world cup year, little time for another manager to prepare. Team still in transition. 115 charges still hanging over the club. Nobody as good as he is, as a manager. Nobody as loyal as he is as a person, should shit hit the fan. Challenges for trophies without fail. A year is a long time where anything can happen, including further extensions.
No way do the club juat choose to break with him now, because he is staying just one more year, that they have already agreed to when they signed the contract.
If he goes, which is evident he will, it will be because he decided it snd the club respect that, as opposed to breaking with it now to get Maresca in while he is available.
