I hate to sound like an FOC but I left early.
Sick to death of coming to City hoping (but only half-expecting) to be able to get some hot food only to be left hungry time and time again.
It's not hard to cater for coeliacs but City seem to find it impossible. It affects 1 in every 100 people (which means this would affect about 35 people there tonight) but from going to City tonight you'd think it didn't exist. Hot food options were: pies, burgers, or hot dogs. All stuff I can't eat.
Alright fine, I'll get crisps or popcorn to tide myself over. We get told we can't use the complimentary voucher to get snacks. I get offered the vegan burger because the staff clearly haven't received any training on food intolerances an allergies.
Nice to know that they don't bother catering for an autoimmune disease but do cater for people who choose to be vegan.
I thought to myself, 'Alright, it's just a test event. Availability of anything will be limited, just take your pictures with the trophies and see which former players might be knocking about for photos'. Turns out the "former players" advertised were just gonna be interviewed on a stage and that was about it?
So I've essentially paid £5 plus travel fees (twice for my mum) to go and sit outside for two hours, hungry and bored and wishing I'd stayed at home. I'm only annoyed because of the food situation because they don't provide any coeliac-safe options and they also don't let you in the ground with your own food.
Felt excited to be a little part of history and to help the club get things ready for Pep's leaving do on Sunday but I'm tired of feeling like an afterthought. Like I said before, people choose veganism but I've got no choice about my diet. The club have been a bag of shite on this since the start of the season and it doesn't look like it'll be getting any better.
