16 | Rodri 2025/26

This one will sting me if it happens, Not far off 2 years since his original injury - I'd like to think with the way we've looked after him (as we do all our players) that he'd feel some kind of loyalty to us.

Hopefully he does, not sure Madrid would pay what he is worth to us - so there comes the sticking point ... is it worth keeping him for the extra year and losing him on a free or cashing in if he won't sign.

He's 30 in June, if he'd have stayed fit I'd have no issue saying he'd play at the top till 35, given he's spent 2 years and played 24 prem games leaves the club in. a difficult spot

Personally I'd give him a blank cheque.

And let him go on a free? He us not resigning at this point. Id he isnt resigning, i say sell at this summer. He has served us well. But i see no reason to nurse him neck to full health just for him to leave on a free.

Our post-Peo restock has to be ruthless. 23 dont hqve the Pep edge anymore. We need to be active and front footed.

We can pray Maresca turns out special. But mote likely than not, hed be decent but amongst the pack. So we need to atay agead on talent to.matvg orher teams..

Mate - your typos are absolutely all over the place, every single post.

Makes your stuff quite difficult to decipher a lot of the time.

Do you usually post when pissed (drunk)?

Entirely born of benign curiosity, in case you think I’m having a pop at you - so no offence intended.

Fat fingers on my phone. Sometimes i go back and read and shake my head. :) its just gibberish :(

When the players were waiting in the stand to go get the cup, it sounded like pep said rodri is going to real madrid
If he went to Real Madrid, I must admit I'd be disgusted after the way that they treated him at the world player of the year. Surely, surely, he couldn't go there after that? What happens the next time a non-Real Madrid player wins the award, does he act the Real way? Don't do it, lad!

Not many players have any loyalty these days.
He's not the same player he was before his injury.
I doubt he ever will be.
If he's not going to extend his contract I'd sell him now.
Better than him leave for nothing next year.

He has a chance to become one of the members of captain / leadership group, along with Ruben, Haaland, Gvardiol and Donarumma

And continue Pep's legacy, help Maresca and win the titles..

In Real Madrid there will be Mourinho and circus going on at least for 1 season or two..

Here he has stable structure, style of play he is suited for and young team with full of potential..

I don't understand what's to think about.

I can see him leaving for a new challenge now peps off. But depends if we get the money we think he’s worth or we make him see out his contract

Was he there today? Can’t remember seeing him but that means sod all, to be fair!
Might suggest he’s off, if he didn’t turn up today.

Yes, he was on the pitch at the end and appeared to be leading the team on the lap of honour, certainly as they started near SS. Didn’t look like a man who was about to leave us to me.

The club can't avoid taking risks with Rodri.

It's risky to offer him a huge contract because he may suffer injuries regularly and become a squad player.

And it's risky to lose him because he's a top professional and may well be great for another 3-4 years. Those saying he won't be the old Rodri may be wrong (again).

So, the club decision is likely in the middle: offer him big wages, but not too big.

If Romano is right, Rodri doesn't accept the current offer. So, this one will be difficult for the club to navigate. Maybe we'll watch his performances in the WC. If he is great, we'll offer him more. But then Real will want him more too.

Guess, we are likely to sell. And that might be a mistake, but nobody can be sure now.

He's looking quite lively tonight

Give him what he wants and if he still doesn’t wanna sign let him go for free next season. He’s priceless

Not a chance the club are letting someone of Rodri's stature walk out of the door to no fanfare, not that it's the most important thing but it just won't happen.

Hopefully Gundo and Ed being back have told him the grass isn't always greener.

Real are a mess at the moment - utter twats in the dressing room and an old fart as a manager

Rodri probably looking on Bernardo and Stones send off with envy and thinking he wouldn’t mind the same, which he only gets if he stays until next year at least.

If he plans to stay for next season, hopefully he puts it out to the media to quell the rumours.
