Seat Counters 25/26

I’m tempted by a ticket for the Villa game. Gave up my ST this season but as someone said, I’d like to be there for Pep’s farewell.

However, when I log in it still says ‘restricted sale.’ Is there a criteria I’m not aware of?

Sure I’ve got enough points and am a match day member.
Is it possible you have purchased the cityzen match day membership after the 18th June last year as that's the only thing I think is stopping you from buying

Helpful info from Simon. Let’s see how sales go once all match day members have had the chance to buy a ticket.

Obviously, it would be preferable if tickets were cheaper.

When did you buy your current membership mate? At the moment, you can only buy a Villa ticket if you bought your membership on or before 18th June last year so I’m guessing thousands and thousands of members don’t qualify. I’d expect that restriction to be lifted today and all match day members will be allowed to buy one.
Complete moronic idiocy to put that restriction on for these short-notice tickets. They’ve wasted half a day’s potential sales when you only have a couple of days to shift them! Would also explain why so many were logged on yesterday without many tickets being bought. Hopefully those people will be made suitably aware that it’s going on sale unrestricted to matchday members today (if it even does), or it’s another bollock dropped by the club

They have lost closeness to the fan base and are getting sales predictions badly wrong. They are working like we are in a growth situation which isn’t a growth situation. The way they have restricted season ticket sales to people who are already massive match goers is ridiculous. They need to be encouraging lapsed and new fans, and making it easy to get in the stadium. Even now they have a membership restriction in place for the Villa game, a game that should be a sellout and should have sales incentives as a loss leader in a new stand. They should have just whacked these tickets out at a reasonable price to let people try before they buy.
My take on this is that because the first 3500 that went on sale in the new stand flew off the shelves in about 20 minutes the other week, the club expected the rest to go quickly too when they were put on sale yesterday. However, there’s one glaring difference - a couple of weeks ago we were in a title race but now we’re not. As such, they should’ve had some more relaxed criteria lined up ahead of yestetday’s batch going on sale. They could’ve gone with the current criteria at 1pm yesterday and all members at 4pm. The fact that they didn’t at least announce a new criteria last night when it became clear that there were still plenty left is a huge oversight, especially when there was such a small window of time prior to the game that tickets went on sale.

Alternatively, they could’ve whacked the whole lot on sale the other week “subject to the test event being successful”. These test events hardly ever fail to my knowledge so it was only ever going to be a very small risk. That said, I don’t know whether their hands were tied and weren’t allowed to put the remaining tickets on sale prior to the test event (I’m sure someone more clued up will be able to clarify). Either way, all this could’ve been handled a lot better.

Plus, the stand isn't even properly finished yet. It's absolute madness. The club has turned the empty seats myth into a reality with their decisions.

How’s he going to help them do that? If they listened to him he’d tell them to drop the prices and restrictions and they’d sell. The club won’t listen.
I’ve helped to shift about 10 tickets since yesterday, through Supporters Club membership reserve lists and putting Blues looking for tickets in touch with fellow fans who can’t make the game. That’s in addition to attending the Test Event so more of our fans can get in the ground.

Rival fans will always take the piss about “empty seats”. It’s sweet FA to me. I’m a FOC now but I fought our corner for years through schools in Stretford.

Let’s see if many more tickets shift after the game is opened up to all match day members before labelling things a disgrace etc.

Maybe if there was a bit more positivity, sales would flow better.

I'm pretty sure they could have because the ticket I bought in that first batch, came with the disclaimer that if the test event fails I will be refunded

Let’s deal with the facts. The main reason the new stand isn’t sold out yet is because we aren’t involved in a title decider on Sunday.

Yes, tickets are too expensive too. Plus we don’t have guaranteed sales to season card holders yet in the new stand.

You don’t see the irony that part of your post is against club policy. The same policy you’re defending.

There will be 2,000 empty seats in the new stand for Pep’s farewell because the club are delusional and greedy.

Its bizarre that doesn’t piss you off.

I’m sure they will sell if it opens up to all members today Tim but I just can’t fathom why they didn’t have that criteria ready to go yesterday “in case tickets remain”, especially as the match is now only 2 days away.

The ticket prices are another discussion and while I think they’re too high, 3500 fans bought them at that price in the new stand the other week so I guess they wouldn’t be too happy if this batch went on sale at the cheaper price, not to mention all the other members who bought tickets elsewhere in the ground at that price. They could’ve at least sold the safe standing tickets in the new stand though at a cheaper price.

City could have criteria opened up by now to all match day members who’ve attended a previous game. Then season card holders could have the option of buying a second ticket after lunch.

I don’t think it is.

What is idiotic is making the fans pick between the parade and the event.

The parade should have been in the early Afternoon, and the event should have been in the early evening.

Telling fans they can only go to the parade or the event and not both is utterly stupid.

1000’s of fans would have gone to the event after the parade.

The Coop Live Arena is a 20 minute stroll from the NQ.

Pep and the players could have gone back to the CFA for a couple of hours, or gone straight to the ground and relaxed until the event.
Spot on.

Yeah it's pretty much only the safe standing that's left as well, crazy to not put them on for 30 and open them up to any member or even general sale

I think this is a great point. They’ve made it pretty much impossible for people who don’t/ can’t attend loads of games (maybe can’t afford 35 games) to get a season ticket.

A lot of lapsed fans or ‘legacy’ fans are attending games here and there. How does a newer fan get to games regularly as well?

We need these people, otherwise how do we sell out the ground?
It will be sold out for all the big games.
The tourists will see to that.
The rest will be around the 50 mark. So we will have 12’000 seats empty for more than half the games next season.
Can someone please explain how can the club restrict the sale of season tickets and limit the number off tickets you can buy under membership.
It’s like the club are deliberately trying to make life harder for the local fan.
It’s fucking insane.

Couldn't agree more.
And I predict for season 27/28 they will be selling full ST and chasing new signups as they realise (slowly) what has gone on
