Pep to leave at the end of the season

I don't care if I don't see us lift another thing...pep for the last 10 years has given me enough for a lifetime and till I take my last breath ....all I can say is thank you you've made every blues dreams come true
I just said to a rag mate.
It will be shit now forever.
And I don't care.
Cos I've witnessed the last ten years.
Nothing matters now

What an emotional video goodbye, I’ve come to terms with it as I’ve been prepared for a few months but it’s still hits hard.

Let’s hope it’s ‘Meet The New Boss, Same As The Old Boss’

Unlikely but here’s hoping.

With Helen’s bell and Truman’s Steel
The Moss Side boys on Eastlands’ field
Our top flight wins can’t be downplayed

No red, just sky it’s so surreal
The Kippax Stand let go a scream
Wilf Wild and Mercer love this scene

Sometimes I fantasise
We won the league under Mancini and again with Pellegrini

Don’t these times fill your eyes
Now we’ve Pep Guardiola and the Blues are taking over

We’re never gonna lose
We’re always on the booze

We’re scoring goals and playing bold
And now the wins are taking hold
We play this football game in style

And for as far as I can see
Pissed pilled-up Blues grin back at me
Wilf Wild and Mercer love this scene

Sometimes I fantasise
We won the league under Mancini and again with Pellegrini

Don’t these times fill your eyes
Now we’ve Pep Guardiola and the Blues are taking over

We’re never gonna lose
We’re always on the booze

Sometimes I fantasise
We won the league under Mancini and again with Pellegrini

Don’t these times fill your eyes
Now we’ve Pep Guardiola and the Blues are taking over

We’re never gonna lose
We’re always on the booze

Mad to think we will probably never see City have success like the Pepdecade again. Gratetful for all he's done but I don't support City because we always win. Looking forward to many defeats in the future. New stories, new heroes. New goals, new disappointments and new achievements.

I can't think of any manager who's left that I wish had more time. Maybe Steve Coppell ;) so chapeau Pep for all you did. You will always be the best I've ever seen, you redefined what was normal but we werent mates so life goes on.

Over 50 years as a Blue, and the first three decades were mostly heartbreak, frustration and the particular misery that only City could inflict on you. I was genuinely happy just with what Mancini gave us, that alone felt like more than we deserved.
Then Pep arrived and redefined what was possible.
From 2022 into 2023 I was very poorly. There were long stretches where I couldn't attend games. The football didn't just entertain me it genuinely helped carry me through the worst of it.
So when people talk about Pep's legacy in trophies and records, I understand completely. But for some of us it runs deeper than that. He gave us joy precisely when I particularly needed it most.
Thank you Pep. For everything. Sunday is going to be very emotional.

Let's hope the next guy doesn't need 10 years to finally get a win at a full Anfield :-)

Gutted. Just gutted that Pep has decided the time is now, but fully understand and hope he thoroughly enjoys his sabbatical. The greatest manager to have lived and he smashed it for a decade at City. In-cre-di-ble.

A wonderful coach and human being, he built a team in his own image - humble, hardworking, passionate, and highly skilled (with occasional neurotic episodes). I hope the club continue the policy of not only bringing in the best talent but also the best people (Pep, Vinnie, KDB, Bernardo, Stones, Gundo, El Mago et al). The longer he stayed the more he really got the fans but straight from the off he saw the majority of the press for exactly what they were. The way he went out to bat for the club when the 115 charges all kicked off. A genuine legend. We'll never see his likes again, a proper one-off.

Same mate, only it was over that 18-19 season for me. Hope you're getting along well.

Not many managers get to leave with you wanting more. Pep has done that. I'd have loved one more year out of him, but he's doing it his way and I'm so happy that's the case.

Things might not be the same - we might not win as much, but every defeat under Pep hurt just that little bit more. Seeing what he did to his face after that Feyenoord game showed us just how much he makes himself suffer to be the best. I'm glad he's no longer going to subject himself to that sort of stress and pressure.

10 wonderful years of great football, lots of trophies and lots of memories. It's perfect in a lot of ways - he leaves as a winner, he averaged two trophies a year, he finishes with one game more than Les McDowall and completes the perfect ten. He got us that elusive European Cup as part of a treble and smashed records everywhere.

I just wish him the best of luck for the rest of his life. It's mad to feel the way we do about someone we don't know personally. And maybe, just maybe, he will be back some day.

That's the only problem.
One off.
There will never be another anything like him

Forgive the ramblings of an over emotional 64 year old man, who should probably know better, but here goes.

Peps 10 years at the Club have pretty much been the soundtrack to my recent life. I met the current Mrs Dodge the Christmas before he joined. She was told early doors that the one thing that will never change will be me and City. 6 months later I dragged her up to the CFA to the Pep greeting and from that moment on she was hooked. Within a couple of years she had her seasoncard and we've travelled all over England and Europe ever since. Kharkiv twice, Belgrade, Madrid too many times, Leipzig, Dusseldwarf, Basel and many others. Along the way, met many a hardened Euro away Blue who have become the best of friends. At Porto, I met for the first time in 20-odd years my very best mate from my teenage/early 20's years. The guy who used to hitch-hike round the country with me, as City daft scallies, ducking and diving in the dark days. The guy who I'd have took a bullet for, who I fell out with over stupid argument. Pep, getting us to that CL Final, sorted out that friendship, which still flourishes to this day. I lost my old man to cancer the year before Pep came. After the Pep greet I took the new Mrs Dodge to Southern Cemetery to see him. She noticed that his grave was covered in white feathers, which we thought nothing of at the time. At Istanbul, at the final whistle, when we were all thinking of the people we'd lost who didn't get to see us make history, you can imagine our thoughts when Mrs Dodge noticed a white feather float down from the sky at the final whistle.

That's the point of my post really. The personal memories that that man has given us will live forever. It's not just a footballing legacy, it goes far beyond that. The man hasn't just changed Manchester City. He's changed people, families, friendships. Changed the worlds perception of Manchester. Changed everything for the better.

What an absolutely blinding legacy.

So again, 10 years on, I'll be dragging Mrs Dodge up on Monday to wish him a fond farewell, in the balmy Manchester sunshine (he's even changed the fucking weather), sink a few scoops with mates and raise a glass to Josep Guardiola Sala.

Salud Pep, nice one.
I've been feeling exactly the same but couldn't have put it so eloquently.
Pep's legacy goes way way beyond football. Pep, Bernardo and Johny Stones all leaving....I'm going to be a proper mess on Sunday.

He just needs to confirm where he has his CTID tattoo. Forever grateful for what he’s given us.

All good things must come to an end, and i look back on the Pep era with pride and happiness.

I don't know what's coming next, and not seeing Pep on the touchline will be hard, but nothing will take away our experiences with El Jefe.

In the nicest possible way he was a freak. Don't think we'll see his like again so we really only have one job as a fanbase: be grateful for what we've had rather than it turn us into mard arses who believe we are entitled to exactly the same in the future.

For sure we can hold the management and players to high standards which is what Pep instilled across the club, but no bleating just cause we can't dominate to the same level. Leave that to lesser clubs and fans.

Finally got round to see the farewell video after work and I’ve tears in my eyes. Thank you boss

Is he going to still live in Manchester or move back to Barcelona?
he will soon get bored of his new 8milion quid gaff in barcelona

Pedralbes is hardly Deansgate after all, is it.

it's actually about 100yards from where he used to live with his wife (she now lives in Eixample).
