Best goal of the Pep era

Always loved sterling's goal against stoke in the 7 -2 game, was a great example of how opposition teams could feel safe one moment with the ball in our half to suddenly be picking the ball out of their own nets.

It was also during this time where opposition teams used to try and press eddy on the ball.

We scored some amazing goals in that game.

Think we were offended by Stoke scoring two just before half time and ripped them a new one.

We've got a thread on the best game but what do Bluemooners think is the best goal we've scored?

Here's a few off the top of my head for starters:
  • Gabriel Jesus against Southampton to bring up the century of points
  • Vinny's screamer against Leicester
  • Bernardo's brilliant first-time volley against Villa
  • Leroy Sane's goal vs Arsenal following the brilliant sequence that led up to it
  • Leroy's goal against Stoke from that incredible slide-rule KDB pass
  • Kev's free kick at Cardiff, where he delivered a daisy cutter under the jumping wall
  • KDB's free kick against Barcelona in the 3-1 win in 2017
  • Rodri's CL-winning goal
  • Gundo's 12 second goal in the FA Cup final
  • Oscar Bobb's against Newcastle.
Kev's in the semi final in the Bernabeau. Kev's at Chelsea when Pep's centurions were just emerging.
Kev's first against Arsenal at home when City dismantled their closest challengers on the way to the treble

They weren't Pep era but if you want a Kun goal from the last ten years how about the thunderbastard that was the first of his hat trick against Chelsea in 2019 after he'd missed an open goal from about a yard. I think he was just embarrassed!

Captain Vinny was important and special too at home to Leicester.

The one at Highbury when, under intense pressure, we played it out from the corner flag to make it 1-2
Foden at Anfield when he beat van djyke, Robertson and that good midfielder they had.
Gundogan at far post after brilliant run and pass from Kev.

Bernardo's first goal against Real Madrid in the 4-0 win has to be up there. The way they picked Real Madrid apart was pure Guardiola. Rodri chips it out right to Bernardo on the right, who finds John Stones. Stones back to Walker, Walker to De Bruyne on the edge of the Real Madrid box, who finds Bernardo who beats Courtois with a brilliant finish. That move pulled the Real Madrid defence apart, and was one of the most Pep Guardiola inspired goals of his time at City. That goal gets lost cause of the overall performance that night but it was a work of art.

Always remember a screamer from Kev down at Leicester.
Leicester had a corner, cleared or should I say passed away from David Silva (I think).
3 touches later Kev feints from his right foot to smash a thunderbastard with his left into the top corner.
Schmeichel no chance
Michael Appleton who was Leicester's Assistant Manager at that time was talking about that goal. He said that he was relieved when he saw that it was on Kevin's left side, then he hit it!
