One thing that baffled me about yesterday was why weren't the two trophies we've won paraded? I was at Wembley for both games but it would have been nice to see them on our pitch yesterday. Pep and the players doing a walk around at the end could have carried them.

No 1 = prem league No 2= chumps league No 3 = qualify for chumps league No 4: any of the tin pot Euro League / Conf League (the way the 'meeja' goes on) 5 = Fa c Cup and poor 6th = Leagues cup (soon to be overtaken and pushed into 7th IF arsenal win the charity shield).. so next season I hope Enzo sacks these off and tries to sort out a squad that can compete at top table table in chumps and Prem...lot of dead wood to clear out

Again. No. The manager was leaving, players were leaving, emotions matter, so a quality performance should not be expected. Stones and Bernardo said themselves they really couldn't concentrate. It's a terrible game to assess. It's simply not the norm.

You arecignoring the evidence of the other performances like that. Rico Lewis left trailing counter attacks, opposition forwards having a free run at our centre halves no full backs in site. no midfield defensively. Slow, weak in tackles, reijnders especially- doing his casper the ghost impression every time he steps on the pitch.

That performance and others through the season says that a lot of our squad isn't good enough

How many of that starting 11 would start next year for you?
Semenyo? - scored but little else - big improvement in basics needed
Foden? - has improved but needs to really find himself again
Dias....weak
Bernardo would if he was still here - that's a worry in itself!

The rest of the 10 outfield players are definitely no and questions about all 3 above ( fwiw I think foden is class but his form has been terrible)

And that's without the manager drop-off

The game might mean nothing but it does show again how poor aome of the rest of this squad is

No manager is getting any improvement in the likes of Rico Lewis. And Reijnders should never be allowed to.pull on a shirt again. Sav has to go as well

I'm.hoping whoever the new manager is can also improve Semenyo in some of the basics ( his goal scoring is top class but the rest of his game is poor)

Kova needs to go along with Ake as well

Exactly the way I feel. I was at the game and the midfield/defence was all over the place. The amount of times Villa were one simple pass away from being through one on one was criminal, every second ball was won by Villa, it was almost like some of these players knew their time was up or had an eye(not all) on the WC. I really do not want to see Lewis,Savinho and Reijnders in a sky blue top ever again. Lewis just isn't good enough, Sav is infuriating,if he had a football brain he might be ok,but the lad just hasn't got an end product,he's infuriating at times. Reijnders? What does he do ? I genuinely do not know what he does on that pitch ? Like a fuckin ghost! I hear some people say give him a chance/2nd season might be better,but I've run out of patience with him. Kovacic and Ake just at the end of careers and whilst not totally over the hill,it might be the right time. Kova did well when he came on last week v Chelsea last week but he's not the answer, we need young fresh hungry players because that midfield is on its arse right now. A few more need to wake the fuck up for next season too, Foden needs to sort his head out and get back on it, maybe not being in England squad and a proper summer rest might do him some good. Just a horrible damp squib of a game to end the greatest manager of all times tenure..typical Citeh!

read absolutely nothing into the Villa game , we could have played the U-18 team and it wouldnt have mattered one jot , it was an end of season knock about on a very hot day after a sapping 60 game season.
Did anyone come along expecting a football feast ? It was a day of relaxed celebration , the hard work starts in August and i am sure the squad will be bolstered and decisions on players like Lewis , Reijnders , Savinho and some others will be taken by the new manager.
We have two hard earned trophies in the cabinet , no matter how some on here want to belittle them , if they are so easy to win why didnt Cheslea and the Goons beat us in the finals ? These players have a proven winning mentality it wont disappear with Pep.

Yeh that was like City of the 90’s, Lewis & Savinho down that side was painful to watch.

Savinho gave them a route back into the game. They had 2 players in miles of space on the touch line while he was 20 yards in field marking nobody and looking clueless. They broke and got the corner from which they equalised. You could see Pep bollocking him after the goal.

I'm not. If you had said "there have been problems in the past with our performance..." then i would have agreed. But you particularly referenced this one game, and this is the only game i would ignore. Lets end it there matey.

I did also say looking at other games throughout the season....there were a lot of similarities.

The main culprits could still be here next year: Sav, Reijnders especially, Dias and Rico Lewis to name four...there are others as well....what i said originally is that this game shows that again these players arent good enough.....thats based on evidence of this game and other games over the season......Unopopular I know but a significant number of the squad are nowhere near the levels required to push for the title next year when other teams are going to try and get stronger...

I think its inevitable we will slip back into the pack of 3-4 team competing for the title instead of being top dog.....I personally have no problem with it...its the end of anera and I dont thinkwe will even come cose to replicating what we did under Pep....however what we dont want to see is a signiifcant drop off to where we arent even competing which means with a lesser manager we are going to have to have higher quality players .....no other manager gets a tune ot of Nunes at fullback for instance.....or turns Stones froma top class defender into a CL MOTM hybrid midfielder......

I hope a lot of fans are ready as we wont see that dominance again unless we go out and get top class talent which the squad is sadly lacking in certain areas of the pitch and most notably in depth of squad as well

i feel you're going to be disappointed there'll be no major rebuild its been already done
