We want to address the issues with the Matchday buses after the final home game of the season.
We know a number of supporters were unable to make the buses due to the extended on‑pitch presentations.
We had already planned for the end‑of‑season player presentation for Stones and Silva and set a departure time of 7.00pm, more than an hour after the final whistle. What we failed to anticipate was the additional presentation following the announcement about Pep’s departure on Friday, which left us with very limited time to adjust plans.
On the day, we worked with drivers to delay departure to 7.15pm. By that point, there were supporters already on board and understandably unhappy about further delays. We are also aware, that some drivers, after agreeing to delay to 7.15pm, left shortly after 7pm, we taking action against operators to ensure this doesn't happen again.
We explored every option to hold the buses longer, but factors such as driver working hours, onward commitments, and the uncertainty around when the presentation would finish meant we could not delay departure further.
We completely understand are truly sorry for how we let supporters down, especially on a day that was so important to the fans.
We are extremely disappointed that the level of service we aim to deliver every matchday fell short. Supporters deserve a reliable service, and we know how important it is, particularly on a day of celebration.
We guarantee, at the end of next season, (when we hope to be celebrating another league title), we will set a departure time that allows fans to enjoy the full post‑match experience without worrying about missing their bus.
This season’s Matchday buses have reflected the team’s journey: some highs, some lows, and areas where we know we can do better. However, we can also be proud of the UK’s largest dedicated supporter bus scheme. I know it sounds crass, but we genuinely can’t do it without you.
We strive for continuous improvement and will continue to listen to supporters on routes, stops, and how the service can better meet your needs.
The team at Bee Network genuinely strives to provide a service worthy of the best supporters in the world, and we are determined to deliver that consistently next season. Breakdowns, delays, and operational issues are things we work to improve every single game.
Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding throughout the season.
Bee Network and Manchester City are already working together on next season’s service, and we welcome your feedback on what you’d like to see improved, although we’re afraid toilets and drinks trolleys still aren’t possible.
