City bus scheme for home games

As we had advertised a 7:00pm departure time, many people understandably left early to make sure they caught the bus. This unfortunately meant some fans missed the end of the event, while drivers were also trying to balance waiting for others who had not yet arrived.

We did ask drivers if they could wait longer, but 7:15pm was the latest most were able to stay.

We sincerely apologise to anyone who missed the end because they needed to leave early, and also to those who missed the bus. We appreciate your understanding, and we will make sure this is carefully considered in future planning.
Appreciate not your fault at all, but I got there at 7.08 and there was only one bus waiting, the number 10 , the rest had all left at 7pm , or shortly afterwards, so hadn’t waited until 7.15 . I left early to make sure I was there for 7.15 so I could get the 17 , but it was long gone

The buses left at 07:05pm. I just managed to get on Bus 5. A steward asked the driver to stay until 07:15pm but he drove off a few minutes later saying that " they hadn't updated the app".

Absolute cluster fuck yesterday, no excuses.

Delay the buses so people can go to the Pep farewell but don’t actually delay them long enough so people can go. Make that make sense.

These events are pretty tightly choreographed so the club will have known what time it would finish.

Given the buses are a partnership between the club and the Bee Network how the hell did they manage to cock this up so badly.

Utter fucking shambles.

The time was set for 7pm, we did ask all drivers to stay when we realised it would be later but unfortunately after 7pm it was their discretion. We have taken this onboard for future and will ensure we factor in a lot more time in the future. Apologies for tonight
Find better drivers.

Absolute clown show yesterday.

Didn't use them yesterday so missed the obvious carnage but used the 13 a couple of times this year and been suitably impressed. I know its early but are the routes already set for next season or will there be scope for new ones? And how would we suggest them if so!

Yes, I wS on that bus and heard the conversation.
Because I didn't want to miss the 7pm departure, from the final whistle onwards I was shouting "get on with it!!!)."

agree it was an absolute joke, 15 bus was 45 minutes later getting into Middleton and left at 7pm with 8 passengers on board, lot of elders who use it every game were left waiting, poor decision to give fans the option of getting the bus back or saying goodbye to Pep

I went for the 6, basically sprinted over to the stop straight after the goodbye Pep thing and found no buses at the college at all and plenty of very pissed off blues. In the end I had to get an uber and wait fuckin ages for it to turn up..pure chaos.

We want to address the issues with the Matchday buses after the final home game of the season.

We know a number of supporters were unable to make the buses due to the extended on‑pitch presentations.

We had already planned for the end‑of‑season player presentation for Stones and Silva and set a departure time of 7.00pm, more than an hour after the final whistle. What we failed to anticipate was the additional presentation following the announcement about Pep’s departure on Friday, which left us with very limited time to adjust plans.

On the day, we worked with drivers to delay departure to 7.15pm. By that point, there were supporters already on board and understandably unhappy about further delays. We are also aware, that some drivers, after agreeing to delay to 7.15pm, left shortly after 7pm, we taking action against operators to ensure this doesn't happen again.

We explored every option to hold the buses longer, but factors such as driver working hours, onward commitments, and the uncertainty around when the presentation would finish meant we could not delay departure further.

We completely understand are truly sorry for how we let supporters down, especially on a day that was so important to the fans.

We are extremely disappointed that the level of service we aim to deliver every matchday fell short. Supporters deserve a reliable service, and we know how important it is, particularly on a day of celebration.

We guarantee, at the end of next season, (when we hope to be celebrating another league title), we will set a departure time that allows fans to enjoy the full post‑match experience without worrying about missing their bus.

This season’s Matchday buses have reflected the team’s journey: some highs, some lows, and areas where we know we can do better. However, we can also be proud of the UK’s largest dedicated supporter bus scheme. I know it sounds crass, but we genuinely can’t do it without you.

We strive for continuous improvement and will continue to listen to supporters on routes, stops, and how the service can better meet your needs.

The team at Bee Network genuinely strives to provide a service worthy of the best supporters in the world, and we are determined to deliver that consistently next season. Breakdowns, delays, and operational issues are things we work to improve every single game.

Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding throughout the season.

Bee Network and Manchester City are already working together on next season’s service, and we welcome your feedback on what you’d like to see improved, although we’re afraid toilets and drinks trolleys still aren’t possible.

The last match of our season was - to be fair - unprecedented. 2 great players leaving; Pep going; new stand etc; 2 trophies to present. On the whole, the service has also been unprecedented & many fans from other clubs are very envious.
Shit happens & everybody learns from it.

On the whole a great service enhanced by the efforts of @matchdaybus. Thanks Katie & here’s to next season

Hi Katie, thanks for your communications over the season. Its a shame that the service went wrong on the very last occasion of the season. I guess you need to treat that last home game as if it was a cup game that "might" go to extra time and penalties and build in some potential slack into the arrangements. Easier said than done I guess.

Have used various buses this season, has been a welcome addition to the arrival and departure to amd from the ground
Friendly prompt communications from Katie also, thanks.
Went by train from Astbury to Glossop for the first time on Sunday, easy parking at the Station in Glossop I t took 45 minutesoff the travel time too. Shame Astbury cannot be used more.

Toying with the idea of using the bus services next season

With parking close now so much out of bounds and even the cash car parks being of full capacity so early before kick off I’ve really struggled to park up this year and don’t enjoy leaving 2 hours before kick off for a 20-30 minute journey just to park on the cash spaces briscoe lane

I’m sure I’ll pop in here for some help and guidance before the season starts but from what I’ve read the bus spokesperson does a fine job of helping us all out

Thank you for your understanding, and we will work to ensure this doesn’t happen again! It takes errors sometimes to make things perfect! We will get it right I promise.

The 7pm departure just wasn’t enough, but we know that now. I promise for a better end to next season! :-) Thank you too, you and everyone else have been so lovely! The service would be nothing without such fabulous fans!
