26 | Savinho - 2025/26

would happily sell, we have too much inconsistency at the club and I don't think it's good policy to give everyone three years to get good when trying to compete for titles.

Yeah I wanna see the RW we are going for when he leaves. The RW market is completely dead. You will be one of the first to cry that we have no pace like 2024 when the average 0-0 turns up. Doku is 2 years older btw and yall claimed he was shit 2 seasons ago too.
 
RW market being closed doesn't mean we don't have options....

We can always use Matheus as right win back like we did with Walker in 23/24 and that allowed us to play Julian-Foden duo behind Haaland, which was very effective and they collectively had like 60 or 70 goal contributions..

Like in case of Doku. If Doku is unavailable we can always use Ait-Nouri as left wing back and use Reijnders as left attacking midfielder, the role that suits him a lot.

So Semenyo-Doku as main LW/RW and Matheus/Ait-Nouri as a cover.

Problem we have is in midfield and lack of energy to deliver ball to the attackers.

When Rodri was able to play January-February without injury and regained his stamina, in March-April, before Rodri god injured in Arsenal game, we played at a very high level, similar to treble winners. That's why we won Arsenal Final, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal PL.

Then Rodri got injured and we regressed again and it was visible in Burnley away game.

So we should concentrate more on midfield. Buy Anderson, hopefully Tonali or Enzo and that will give us energy for whole season.

When you have Haaland, Cherki, Foden, Semenyo, Reijnders, Doku and Marmoush - that's more than enough attacking talent.

He’s destined not to make it here. Seems bereft of confidence and what it takes to be at a really big club. I can see him going somewhere else and getting a bit of confidence back. There’s a player in there somewhere and he might be best suited to where he came from, la liga

I'll never beg for Savinho.

We have fuck all pace as it is on the counter and he's here.

I also stand by Doku, purple patch player if ever there was one but this is the Savinho thread and he's just shit, you don't even get a good half a dozen games at a time out of him
 
Wanted him gone early in the season but seen enough in the last few games to feel a little more neutral. Happy if hes grown a set and wants to fight for a place, also happy if we get 45-50 million given he signed a new contract to stay.

We've just brought in a Right Winger in January that's already won us a cup
 
All the people wanting him to stay, unfortunately the lad has had his head in London since the suitcase at the door picture. Just let him leave, we usually do when players don't want to be here (and to take that pic and post it on social media, not forgetting the underhanded pictures of him training when Pep was trying to water the flames and telling the press he was injured - he clearly doesn't want to be here)

Would bet good money that if we sell him it will come back to bite us in the arse, and relatively quickly (within the next 2 years).

Appreciate he's been incredibly immature so far but feel he deserves more time. Definitely a player in there even if his final actions aren't always the best, but Pep seems pretty confident that will come. Don't see any/much reason not to give him another season at this point.

Looking at the stats mate, he has on average 2 unsuccessful dribbles per game, compared with 0.7 successful ones. He doesn't really have the ability to go past people according to those stats.

Confidence when comparing it to his first season and Girona season. The RW market is completely dead. If we go into the season with Semenyo and Doku as wingers then Doku will carry the whole load once again

Why you say its dead? Pretty sure there are plenty of classy wingers in world football or better ones than Savinho at minimum. Im no scout ,but i don´t believe that a team like City with their budget can´t find a better one than him.

You mention the word budget.
We were fortunate/well planned to sell both Bobb and McAtee for not much less than we paid for Semenyo.
I'm not sure how much funds we will have available once we have strengthened our midfield.
If were to sell both Grealish and Savinho, that would be a different situation. The probability is that one of the two will still be with us.
