Good point but does it automatically mean he'll always be injury prone ?, He's played a hell of a lot of elite games for his age which is down to his talent. If he had a chronic problem he wouldn't pass the transfer medical. Some players struggle more at the start of their career, on the other hand JS struggled a lot more from 28 onwards. There are no guarantees, look what happened to Isaak....

Tbf, kinda yea. Its more likely they'll stay injury prone then get better. Its not impossible but its likey, especially these days where players have so many more games that their bodies just start breaking down more than they used to

Isak was injury prone, he'd missed like 30% of all available games for Newcastle or something like that

And those injury prone players often dont cost a lot, Newcastle will still want a record full back fee for him

If hes £30m/£40m it might be worth the risk, but they still want over £70m.... you just cant take that risk even these days if you dont know how many y games hes fit for
 
We’re being linked in the German press this morning with Alexander Nübel, goalkeeper aged 29. Contracted with Bayern through to 2030 but has been on loan at Stuttgart. Probably just clickbait.

He didn't win them on his own though. It was very good team performances. You could put the argument that we wouldn't have won without Semenyo.
I'm easy on either keeper but one player doesn't win us 2 Cup competitions on his own.

I am maybe one of the few who doesn't like Omar as a 9 and prefer him drifting in from the left. He doesn't have the skill to be a 10 like Cherki or Foden.

When we won the CL

we had

Kev Rodri gundo

Silva Haaland Jack

essentially 5 wonderfully gifted midfielders plus Haaland, with Stones joining in.

Now we have Sav, Semenyo, Doku and Marmoush playing wide, none of whom could be called midfielders.

Thus it is no surprise we get overun in midfield because they offer little ball retention. If you look at the Istanbul 3, you had Rodri plus 2 more attacking types.

To play that way now is suicidal. So Rodri plus Anderson is a given. Then one of Foden or Cherki.

Can’t return to that retention-based style of football until the game becomes much less physical, a cycle which could yet have 2-3 more years. In that case, we need to expand the pitch now rather than condense it, meaning highly mobile midfielders who are passing and running beyond the opponent in support of the attack. Easier to add two powerful midfielders to what we already have than start again.
 
personally if we want ready made prem midfielder who can. assist, score and take corners to compliment Anderson we should be in for ‎Szoboszlai imho

The Dippers will want to build around Szoboszlai, they'd never sell him to us if they'll sell at all

I'd agree though, if he was available
