Dele Alli sprung to mind when I read your post. But. like you, I think Phil will benefit from a summer off and be a player possessed next season.

I agree ten years of the same voice, the same demands, the same tactical language, even the most receptive players start to filter it out subconsciously, it's just human nature. Some players thrive on that consistency and continuity, others go a bit stale and stop hearing the instruction even when they think they are.

He should be one of the most celebrated English players in history, but for the 115. When the club is cleared of the charges it should do him well.

No, I don’t know him directly mate. It was from a source I believe though, well 90+% anyway. Wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise.

Edit. Though I suppose as we have changed managers, it’s a bit immaterial anyway.

Fair enough mate. Obviously I can’t explain who the original source of the info is because it’s within the club, but if you look at my tens of thousands of posts on here it’s probably the first time I’ve ever posted something like this, so if I was making it up, why would I? It was just something I happened to hear.
