47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

I think a change in manager could be beneficial to a couple of our players, with Foden being the main one. A fresh start will do him a world of good as well as a rest this summer, unfortunately for him.

We need him to have a big year, and I have to believe he will deliver

I agree ten years of the same voice, the same demands, the same tactical language, even the most receptive players start to filter it out subconsciously, it's just human nature. Some players thrive on that consistency and continuity, others go a bit stale and stop hearing the instruction even when they think they are.

If the club had not had a managerial change this summer he was all set to seek a move away.

He should be one of the most celebrated English players in history, but for the 115. When the club is cleared of the charges it should do him well.

This sort of rubbish can’t be questioned because we will never find out otherwise! So I call this bullshit
Fair enough mate. Obviously I can’t explain who the original source of the info is because it’s within the club, but if you look at my tens of thousands of posts on here it’s probably the first time I’ve ever posted something like this, so if I was making it up, why would I? It was just something I happened to hear.
But as I say, fair enough bud!

You don’t just lose talent and ability overnight

Our phil will be back better than ever next season

No but the longer you've been inconsistent, the harder it becomes to find that top level consistency.

Ability is one thing but his lack of consistency has been going on the best part of two years.

Can you think of any top players that went off the boil for two years and then got back on top to their best?

Very interested to see him under a new manager. It's either going to revitalise him or completely kill him off as a top city player.

His new contract is irrelevant. This time next year, we'll know exactly if he's done or not.
