City will miss Pep but how much will Pep miss City?

He's probably already on a beach somewhere hot and starting his well earned rest. ( That's what I'd do) But in the long term Pep (only 55) will take a position somewhere ( probably as an international manager). Anyway I don't believe he'll ever find the unconditional support he had from the board, fans and players he had at City. I just wonder if he'll regret leaving the club when he did in 5/10 years time. ( Slight reference to Shankly at Liverpool for any FOCS) Any way I hope he's happy in the future and successful. Or will it never be as good as City?? Thoughts ....

He won't go to another club, I don't think. He's staying within the City group for a year and otherwise taking some time off. Pretty much every day for the next 2-3 years he's gonna wake up next his wife (providing they patch things up), he's gonna be making lasting memories with his dear old dad, he'll be watching his kids become proper adults, and he'll be golfing, reading, and drinking wine by the sea for the foreseeable future. And he'll be relieved to do so.

His dad will pass away (sadly but likely in the next 5-6 years), his relationship with his wife will hopefully settle down (again if all goes well during their reunion over the next few months), and his kids will be all over the world by then. By 2032/33 he might start getting the football bug back, but not until then imo. He's lost a lot of time to football and he's going to work hard at claiming as much of it back as he can. Maybe then he'll think about international jobs.

If he regrets leaving City that badly in the future, he'll know he can come back. There's no chance we tell him no. With that in mind, I think he knows that he can spend the next 5-10 years back in Barcelona or on holiday, back in the year-round sunshine, gathering with old friends, watching football and relaxing on the Med, and maybe managing England or Italy or wherever he fancies. He knows the door is always open so he can tune out completely for a while.

If Pep wakes up one morning in the next 2-3 years and realises he regrets leaving City, he won't phone Khaldoon in a panic like "Shit shit shit I'm sorry can I come back", thinking that there's a time limit. He'll alert Khaldoon for sure, but we'll just say "Look Pep, we'll always say yes to having you back, but there's no rush, so have some time out with your family and in 4-5 years we'll be waiting for you, don't worry". But I doubt even that will happen, to be honest.

Exactly this, he has rarely had a break with us going to latter stages of competitions due to either success or covid, his mothers passing, Club World cup, he really does need and has earned a break and his health and family have to come first

He can have a year off and then come back and replace the bald fraud (Maresca, Kompany or Dyche, depending who we get) ;-)

I suspect his next position may depend as much on where he and his family want to live. New York, Melbourne, Girona?

Could actually see him trying Italy for a few years

Would be pretty incredible if he went and managed NYCFC and took De Bruyne with him.

I think we'll always be his biggest legacy and he'll know that, but he's obviously ready to let go in some respect. His daughters post on social media definitely read like a "happy retirement".

Pep gave us ten years of his life. I do hope he does reunite with Cris. She gave up all those years with him. They have a beautiful family. Let's hope he can heal the scars.
The one thing I think I can say is, Pep was the perfect manager for City, perfect. He was like a comfortable pair of slippers. It will be so strange not seeing him lead the team.

I think he could be a fantastic pundit at the World Cup if he was teamed up with some decent co-presenters.

I would not want to see him having to debate with the rag and dipper goons who infest English commentary.

I know one thing he won't miss....

This should be his statue with permanent sprinkler.

Was just about to pre-order the 10 years with Pep Guardiola Member Exclusive Book, then this was added to the price of £65...

UK Postage & Packaging commission ‪£‬13.00

...So holding off for now

Football-mad Pep will not rest for long; international duty will be his next call. I can see a host of clubs after the World Cup wanting him, Pep can take his pick of about 5 international teams
