Noel Gallagher and City.

Mad the amount of abuse he gets, some from our own fans, for leaving early.

Half our stadium is empty at 4.35 on a saturday no matter the scoreline at the time
They should try being the most famous person in the stadium, apart from possibly 1 or 2 players on the pitch, and try making their way out at full time

Think he's a loutish prick personally and I can't stand the fact that we seem incapable of going a full City season without him being involved in some PR campaign or other. You'll always see him at Wembley, in the away ends for some London games on free tickets, or in his box on the final day of the season, but never anywhere else.

I'll never forget in 2016 when they were going to unveil the new City badge on the big screens and after a 10-second countdown the screen transitioned to him talking about the badge before they showed it. That summed it all up for me. City's media team seemingly can't do anything without his involvement or say-so, it's very sad.

Their peak was 30 years ago now. The fact that it's still only Noel Gallagher who's considered as shorthand for a "propoh Manc, propoh Citeh" fan is a condemnation of the retrograde cultural ideology Oasis ushered in during their heyday. Manchester must never look forward, it must only pay homage to the past, over and over again.
Deary me

For what it's worth, I don't mind him being heavily featured in all this Pep departure stuff. They have a personal relationship so it's to be expected. Applauded him at the Co-op when he came out with the CWC trophy because it's part of the larger goodbye to Pep. Thought it was obvious as well why he left the Bournemouth game a bit early, because he doesn't want to get bothered by strangers after full-time - I didn't really get the criticism there. But if we could go Maresca's first season without him being involved in kit launch campaigns or interviewing Willy Caballero then I'd consider that a big step forward for the club's media team.

Remember when the celebrity city fans we rolled out were Bernard Manning , Eddie Large and Curly watts. Whether you like Noel G or not he helps increase the global reach of the club by being involved in some of the promotions (am sure it helps with his profile as well). It could be worse we could be wheeling out Ant & Dec.

Oasis are the biggest band in the world, why would city not use Noel ?

City can do what they want. I'm not saying they need to blast Noel into the sun and forget about him. I just won't enjoy the content they publish with him involved for the reasons stated already (unless it's this Pep goodbye stuff, which I've already said I don't mind because him and Noel are mates and it's appropriate for them to have the "final word" together).

Lighten up.
He does a decent job in all his interviews.
Same with N Pike.Gets grief for no real reason.

No way it’s 5 minutes from Longsight to Platt Lane, unless it’s Mo Farah.
I lived in Longsight (Birch Hall Lane) for near enough 10 years from '73 to' 82, and had a season ticket nearly all that time. Going by the quickest route (across Birchfields Park, up Norman Road, cross Wilmslow Rd and across Platt Fields) to the junction with Yew Tree Road (a walk I made countless times), you'd be looking at somewhere near 15 minutes to walk it.

Sounds about right. Noel must be a fast runner!!
