Was that 3-0 v Leeds, without resorting to google. Our right back scored a worldie. If it’s the same game. The last player to retire having played at Maine Road.
Did a good job for us complementing the really talented players.Never really understood all the hate he got after he left. He did what he what he was asked to do here, worked hard at it and played his part in our success during those years. But, at the end of the day, he is a professional footballer paid to kick a ball about, he wasn't paid to be a City fan for life.
Whatever you think of him, he worked hard at all the clubs he was at, and to have lasted as long as he did at the top level (well, the Premier League anyway) is unusual and deserves recognition.
That’s what he said when he left, no need to say that whether he believes it or not. It’s a huge club and Man City, maybe over the course of history, isn’t as quite as big as Liverpool.
I might be mistaken but I cannot remember him nailing down a consistent starting sport in central midfield for the dippers. He seemed to fill the same "very good utility player" role there that he did at City.He wanted to play a bigger role, in the middle of the park and the dippers gave him that.
Thanks, kind of confirms my view of him ie bit of a ****.Did some work at his house about 10 years ago and hes a miserable fucker.
Ignorant too
