PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Murray Rosen KC is simply the Chair of the Premier League’s Judicial Panel. His job is to appoint the members of the Independent Commission, not to sit on it. The identities of the actual panel hearing the charges aren’t public, and there’s no credible evidence linking Rosen to Arsenal in any meaningful way.

Lord Pannick, meanwhile, represented Southampton in the recent “Spygate” case — and they were clearly in the wrong. Top barristers win some and lose some; their reputations come from the quality of their advocacy and the profile of the cases they take on, not the outcomes.

Personally, I think the eventual decision will be a fair one. This will be one of the most scrutinised sporting judgments ever delivered, and the Commission will know every word will be picked apart. They’ll be doing everything possible to get it right.
Murray Rosen is an Arsenal season ticket holder. Ok, he appointed the panel and doesn't sit on it, but shouldn't be involved. David Pannick is also an Arsenal fan ironically. Your point about advocacy - that's what I'm saying - his job isn't about making out the club is innocent no matter what - his job is to represent and advise the club based on what he knows about the history.

The panel was picked by Rosen, he isn't the chair. And I hate to burst your bubble but Lord Pannick is also an Arsenal season ticket holder.
Yes, I know he chose the panel, clumsy wording by me. I'm very much aware that Pannick is an Arsenal fan. That's ok - the club can ask who it likes to represent them.. I still believe that the person choosing the panel shouldn't be an Arsenal fan though.

it was always "first one to see the tower wins...",
but i can't recall what the prize was.
In our house it’s always first to see the sea that wins. The prize was the right to say “i saw it first”. Pretty rubbish prize thinking about it.

How many floors in your house if you can see the sea from Croydon?
Reminds me of the English family from Birmingham who migrated to Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory. When they looked at the map before leaving the UK they noticed it was equi-distant from the sea in all directions. To their shock when they got there, they discovered at least a two-day journey one way just to reach a coastline.

The Premier League’s involvement — and City’s — effectively ended in December 2024 when the hearing concluded. At that point both parties had submitted all the evidence they had, and the process moved entirely into the Commission’s hands.
What is your point ? The premier league have dragged their feet for years , the clamour for an investigation into our club must have been going on for quite a while , they responded to a letter from nine premier clubs in 2020 and started the investigation in 2023. Wenger started all this shite in 2008 whining about our spending and as we got more successful other clubs jumped on the bandwagon , rather than look at their own clubs failures.
The commission maybe painfully slow , but the Premier league took three years to even start the process , the blame for the length of this debacle is firmly at the door of the Red puppet Masters and the Premier league

We really needed that FAQ from @Chris in London to be pinned and updated each time a new issue was introduced or discussed further. Just to stop the same issues being re-discussed over and over again. Over the last three years, I think every possible scenario will have been considered.

Not sure why it was unpinned really ....

Good Lord. Somebody listened to me - that's a new experience. It's pinned again.

So what about updating it, @Chris in London ?

Based on the last few pages, maybe a summary of the thinking as to why it's taking so long and the question of RPT allegations. Maybe update it for Rosen being replaced at the end of his term.

I am sure there are many more things that can be added, if anyone has any ideas?

First one to spot Blackpool tower on the way to Blackpool,my older brother ALWAYS beat me too it…..happy days
It's about half a mile on foot to the sea from our house and when we get to Fairway at Fleetwood-by-the-Sea I still now even as a FOC and living here 4 years always say to Mrs Moon "Can you see the tower?".
