Enzo Maresca

I thought the days of grammar police was long gone.

I read your comment and think you are in all likelihood wrong.
Not talking about commas in your grammar, but in the regulation.

Two very different meanings with and without a comma.

The club would not have approached him with the intent of offering him employment without his other clubs consent. It is the intent that is the the key part there.

Meresca it seems had a clause in his contract that if he or his representatives had meetings with another club took place he was duty bound to report it back to Chelsea.
There were it seems two un sanctioned meetings that he did indeed report .
I very much doubt those meetings were about hair products

See this is clever by Chelsea’s people now they have evidence of tapping up so like I’ve said before Chelsea could ask for silly silly compo and we know these Americans love this stuff they will go further to get what “they” deserve for missing out on champs league football, because of the “tapping” up which they can back up with evidence! Any manager going to that rancid hedge fund club should need there head examining!

Apologies I thought you were picking me up on the use, or lack of. It’s something that I constantly fail on.

Not sure that you can say with any certainty that he wasn’t approached with intent.

I can say with certainty they wouldnt have specifically said to him, we will offer you employment without your employer's consent.

I can't believe we have never made an approach for Simeone

Great manager and done a great job giving the two big Spanish clubs a run for their money.

Always felt another big club should be chasing him and would've liked him here

City have literally developed an identify in terms of how they play. This is mirrored all throughout the youth teams.

Why on earth would we rip it up for someone like simeone who plays the most bland football imaginable.

He is just Sean dyche with charisma

Where is the problem if we were talking to him but not offering him the position? If we just wanted to understand if he would be interested in the role should Pep decide to leave, then its hardly tapping up.

I agree. There have been various claims floating about. One I have seen is that part of his mutual agreement to terminate his employment had a clause that Chelsea still retain his rights to his contract and renumeration agead of his starting a future role. With anyone, not just us, as I read it.

Why on earth he would sign to that, who knows.

But the club would have lnown the length of his contracr either way, and wouldn't have necessarily expected him to get sacked when making the approach.

I don’t really know why people are panicking and getting bent out of shape about this one.

It’s clearly evident he’s going to be our Manager next season, so it’s not like we’re operating in an uncertain scenario which needs addressing - and in a World Cup year he wouldn’t be actively doing much right now anyway (given the players are all otherwise engaged at the moment) which he can’t do already in terms of planning for the season ahead.

It’s not like he’s forbidden from thinking about City at all til we’ve sorted out the legal impediments to him joining us. He’ll be planning already - which is all he’d be doing at this stage either way.

Our DoF is in charge of transfers, so it’s not like we operate some old school structure where Maresca would be managing player acquisition - so that shouldn’t be impacted in any way.

If it’s just a case of fans wanting to see an official confirmation and welcome interview on the Club website because they’re a bit bored before the World Cup, then I hardly think that should be a factor in influencing the Club’s thinking in any way.

I can’t see the urgent issue on this one at all.

It’s going to happen - that much is plain for anyone to see.
Flappers gonna flap
Same as the “move on” merchants in the Anderson transfer thread
