16 | Rodri 2025/26

I know it’s the same shit worded differently but we had similar with pep. Constant future commitment speculationz

Disappointed to hear so much noise. It’s a World Cup interview. His non commitment to city is worry. Maybe a contract move but still not needed.

Not sure about this. Too much noise.

you are also contributing to it, as am I now - we should desist.

I know but they have been openly tapping Rodri up now for 3 seasons. Shut up when he was injured, didn’t want to know then. Now back at it with his rehab nearly done. 1 year left means a relatively low fee.

50/50 for me he stays. Khaldoon will have the final say but the lure of Madrid is still strong.

Let him go for free and he can end his career back in La Liga next summer. Still a valuable asset. We manged to keep Ederson one more season, we resisted Barcelona for Bernardo Silva and let him go for free.

I don't think we will agree a new contract with him but Real will hold fire until next summer and get him for free.

I reckon we would probably tie him down but only if there was a release clause for a return to Spain, which we might reluctantly do...we will see.

I was hopeful based on his earlier statement which said, without a WC it would already be sorted...which to me hints at signing a deal with us. Real have presidential elections plus negotiating with us to sign him which wouldn't suggest it would be sorted quickly.

I reckon he's gone IMO.

He gets fuck all protection from our referees. He's kicked to fuck every week!

At his age & physique. Coupled with only just recovering from a huge injury, plus the change in favour of pace and power in the PL midfield battles - will see him pushed towards Spain.

Another legend and I wish him all the best.

Would not be ideal to lose both Rodri and Bernardo this Summer. I'm hoping we can get at least one more season from him which will give Viana time to find a replacement.

thing is his salary nowhere near where should be. I think we would be surprised who is on higher salary from current squad. probably some that didnt provide 10% of what Rodri did for us. there is a long delay on his contract renewal likely caused by the lengthy injury he had.

Think he’s done at city tbh . All about not getting shafted now .

Any evidence of this?

Wouldn't be surprised to see more jumping ship now Pep has left.

Two seasons of getting dicked in the CL. Two seasons without winning the league and now the appeal of playing under the greatest manager in the world has gone too.

It's not a sinking ship by any means and I'm actually quite positive and confident about the future but I could see how players heads might start getting turned a little bit easier than a few years ago.

I think he wants Real, but Real don't want him tbh. Probably a bit of an ego-blow for the lad. If this is the case, he'll come back after WC with tail between legs and renew. That or leave on a free, but after drops today I'm less convinced Real is an option for him

I would love him to stay, but feel that the club see it similar to Sergio & KDB. Offering Rodri a huge new contract could put a hugh spanner in the works when it comes squad building if he keeps picking up injures
He'll soon be 30, if Madrid offer £60m i think the club should accept and invest in Tonali who would give us more bite in midfield or Wharton, who is closer to Rodris' metrpnic passing when we are dominating
