Press reporting Gill has stepped down.

Well thank fuck Blatter won then. Great news.Press reporting Gill has stepped down.
Be careful what you wish for, when and not if Blatter is arrested and indicted Gill will take over the moral high ground with Twatini, Red scum yes but also a very clever Man.Well thank fuck Blatter won then. Great news.
So David Gill hasthe slightest hint of decency.a PR advisor. Possibly the most surprising thing to come out of this ordeal.
The words "David Gill" and "decency" in the same sentence? So David Gill has the slightest hint of decency. Possibly the most surprising thing to come out of this ordeal.
I did say hint. I thought he'd have given us a U-turn "Change from within" speech tbh.The words "David Gill" and "decency" in the same sentence?
There'll be something behind it mark my words. He'll either have something to hide himself or (probably more likely) he's waiting in the wings until the mess has been cleared up by the FBI/DoJ and he can step forward, untainted, as Platini's puppet.
It's not like the seat he's refused has been left vacant. It's a British seat so Trefor Lloyd Hughes of the Welsh FA has taken it instead. Anyone confusing David Gill, the man who publicly railed against the Glazers' plan to plunge the rags into debt yet has taken their shilling and shares in the last ten years, with a man of principles is going to be mightily disappointed.
Integrity in the strangest of places. But still integrity! So David Gill has the slightest hint of decency. Possibly the most surprising thing to come out of this ordeal.

Don't fall for it. He knows the yanks will be all over him if he took up a position in FIFA.
It is not integrity at all.
In his own statement, he said that his "professional reputation is important" to him.
New speak for "I'll be ruined if I become associated with this man"!.
I actually think he may have done more good, had he taken his place on the committee, and then spent every day shouting as loud as he could about corruption and shining light on all that is wrong at FIFA.
As it stands, all he's done is tried to protect himself, and quite possibly with the motive of attempting a pwer grab himself, once the current administration is removed.
I was listening to Greg Dyke on Radio 5 Live this morning. Nothing will happen. Even some of the UEFA block voted for Blatter.
He seems to open his mouth before engaging his brain. Pretty typical of united fans. The guy's a dickhead. He could now get the 2026 WC for England for free. Blatter is on the ropes and will cut a deal.
He's not just a closet rag but a thick one as well.

So you are saying that he should use corruption to land a world cup for England? Some kind of fuzzy logic going on there, don't you think?
