By all means, mate. . .
The Maine Blues on twitter are reporting that Chelsea won't go over £40 million. So why are they even rearing their heads?

in a way it's a fair comment,if the deal did go tits up which i can't see, there will be plenty of city fans on here that would change there opinions of him in a second. What I meant was that it's City fans that weren't gushing.
Both sets of fans have done a somewhat about turn though - you are fine with 40-50M for (according to you) SWP Mk II, and we are rationalizing unceremoniously pushing out our best prospect since Michael Owen to another team in the league, in true sour grapes fashion.

I tend to agree with you there, Pam. Just questioning Chelsea's reasoning IF it were true.
I don't know what to believe when it comes to papers and who's reliable or not.
Just relaying what I'm reading on my Twitter feed.
Someone from Liverpool as now stated its more than likely Chelsea are not in for him and they hope City may bid more than last weeks final offer

Now they have Firmino - who I think will turn out to be a quality signing - they have their replacement for Sterling so the deal should be finalized by next week.

Take everything with a pinch of salt. They'll do anything to sell papers. It's boring that only City are interested from a headlines point of view. We're not a very exciting club in the transfer market as we go about our business quietly and don't reveal things to the press. Liverpool have leaked news to the media to suit their own agenda. They've now signed a new player and we're seeing things like "Sterling hasn't got a guaranteed spot in the starting 11". That's all bollocks but softens the blow when he does move on. It suits their agenda and we won't care so long as we get the player for a fee we are happy with. The Chelsea link was never there, it was completely fabricated to sell the story. Much in the way that you see terms like "braced for a bid" which basically means nothing has happened but something might...
Just read things on here and await any information Tolmie may provide - he cuts out the bullshit as he knows how these things work and specifically what City's take on things is.
When it comes to the papers 90% is propaganda.
So when it comes to the tabloids I hardly ever believe a single word they produce.
Where would he play for Chelsea? The one team in the Premiership who probably wouldn't be improved by Sterling. They sold Schurrle because he couldn't get games. They are really strong in that position
Yeah, I know there's lots of paranoia and propaganda (like a mad Thomas Pynchon novel) but then there are some journos who seem to get legitimate info. . .
It's like I was saying earlier, we are truly living Guy DeBord's Society of the Spectacle. Even moreso because I, and I suppose many others my age, don't actually view the gossip/news in the papers, but through Twitter/online. So we're even further removed.
We're the postmodern simulacra of representation. We consume through representation of representation of representation.
It's all a bit mad.
salah was loaned out this year so unless Chelsea have already sold him off this summer he's still theirs I believeMaureen likes to have 3 or 4 quick, skillful and mobile runners available to play in behind a powerful central striker. He's had Willian, Hazard and Oscar fill the role for 2 seasons, and bought both Salah and Cuadrado (neither of whom has measured up, and both of whom are goners - in fact I think Salah has already, hasn't he?) to supplement them. There's also talk that Oscar is out of favour now as well and interesting Juventus, so whilst the Express might be just whistling in the dark about Sterling, I don't think you're right in your assertion that Chelsea wouldn't be interested. Plus he (Mourinho) would be sticking it to his closest rival, ie City, if he did move for the player.
Absurd price though it is, I want to get this signing wrapped up quick and then follow up with De Bruyne, as I don't think either Pogba or Wilshere will come.
