Getting tired of this transfer.

City must surely realise now Liverpool won't take anything less than 50m.

Just pay it and move on.

I'm pretty sure we've had this tied up for a week or so now Sam. I'm as impatient as anyone but if it's in the bag then we'll be happy to allow Liverpool to pull their PR stunt, let Firmino take the headlines for a few days and then sell Sterling and sing about how much money they've made.

I think both Sterling and De Bruyne will be there or there abouts. As a club we rarely provide the press with any information about our transfer dealings and only seem to pipe up if we are walking away from a player because we deem their fee to high. So far we haven't done that.

I'd also say that though we're happy to spend big this summer, it will not be a limitless pot. We'll possibly be looking at what we can get fees to on De Bruyne and Pogba before we offer anything for Sterling. Even if it's a few million we can offset, that might help us with FFP - should restrictions tighten.

It seems to me Dippers had sold Sterling to us for an agreed fee before they got Firminio otherwise wouid be in a weak bargaining position. The drama of the deal is for the press and the dipper fans. Have to wait unfortunately.

Yes but how do you know it takes a week for a bid?

We can only speculate by what the media says...which is mostly complete shite
That's true. I can only hope it doesn't take a week as it seems bizarre that we would look to drag this out.

'Whats that Liverpool. You wont sell him for less than £50 million, same as what you said in May.

Well we have offered you £35 + 5 so how about an extra............

No!? See you next week then'

Contract stuff around football transfer deals are notoriously convoluted and often take ages, there is so much to them. People forget how long the Tevez saga went on and the Nasri deal for that matter and there are others.

In the summer of the Nasri deal, we atleas were very quick to finalise the Clichy and Aguero deals, this summer it looks like all our targets is going to be part of long transfer saga.

This flapathon goes on every single summer and you all know it. We have until the 1st September to work out these deals and that's just the way it is. Hopefully we'll have new players by pre-season but when it comes right down to it, there are still three months left of this window and these are complicated things involving greedy, cut throat agents and grasping clubs trying to screw every last penny out of the buying club. Especially when it's City. And the Chelsea story is the biggest load of bullshit yet. It is completely pointless for them to talk about paying £40 mill and no more because City have already offered that and if we bid again, it will be higher.

Stuff and fucking nonsense. Same thing with Firmino last week. Talk Shite had him in Stretford on a done raggy deal.

The goddamn greed of it all, though.

As for the Chav link, someone at Dipperpool (or Sterling's agent) may well be trying to drive the price up. We should call their, bluff if this is true.

I couldn't care less if the deals drag on, as long as we have all our targets in a City shirt come August 8th.

You've shown how ludicrous that would be with how you've posted things.

As much as Liverpool have an asset we want and have set a price, we are still in a strong position. No other club is involved so we don't need to rush, we don't need to panic and we don't need to put all of our cards on the table. What's the hurry? If another club were involved then we would be more prompt in meeting Liverpool's full demands. Instead we're in a position where we've had discussions with Liverpool, they've bought a replacement and we're the front runner. Now we can advance things on De Bruyne and Pogba and see overall what sort of money we're looking at to secure their signatures.

As I said, even if we have to wait a month to sign him just to shave some money off his fee, then we will. The Pogba situation requires more day to day proactive negotiations. His agent will have been around all the top clubs getting his price and wage package driven up. He's going to cost the most and perhaps City are waiting to see exactly what it will take to get him before we secure any other signings. Sterling hasn't handed in a transfer request and perhaps City are still waiting to see if he does as that will also help get him for less money. There's no rush at all on this.

If anything Liverpool already going out and spending the money puts us in a stronger negotiation position - if we were to go quiet on them now and start to show interest elsewhere there collective scally arses will drop out of their pants thinking they have to cover that expenditure normally and facing being left with an asset whose value will nose dive after this window

holding out for less than the much mooted £50m seems the sensible thing to do in that situation surely

Exactly. They have even called a halt to their media hate campaign of both the lad and us lol.
Firmino was a player we held an interest in, we stepped back to allow Liverpool to sign him and Kovacic with the cash we pay fot Sterling. Liverpool have an history of this (see what I did there?). Id be truly staggered if this wasnt wrapped up already. All hands on deck for the KDB and Pogba deals now I'd have thought although I couldnt care a fuck if we fail in acquiring Pogba who imo is the most ludicrously overpriced player ive ever seen. Give me Verratti any day. Sooner have Schneiderlin and Koke, theyd cost the same!

Yes because we fanny about ... it seems we've fooked about with the Sterling bids, probably rubbed Liverpool up the wrong way and now Chelsea are sniifing. Given Sterling wants to go to London and the fact that Liverpool are probably p*ssed off with us then I'd say the odds are stacked on him going to Chlesea now .... it is actually cringy and embarrassing the way we go about our business in the transfer market ...

LOL.

How so?

Weve put bids in for the most sought after llayers in the world with all of their clubs hoping to start an auction.

How do you know he wants to go to London? Chelsea wouldn't even suit his style of play and hed be on less wages too
