Yes because we fanny about ... it seems we've fooked about with the Sterling bids, probably rubbed Liverpool up the wrong way and now Chelsea are sniifing. Given Sterling wants to go to London and the fact that Liverpool are probably p*ssed off with us then I'd say the odds are stacked on him going to Chlesea now .... it is actually cringy and embarrassing the way we go about our business in the transfer market ...

Perhaps you could send your CV to Sheikh Mansour? If you don't get the DOF job I'm sure you'd be a shoo in as next manager. Bulb.

Firmino was a player we held an interest in, we stepped back to allow Liverpool to sign him and Kovacic with the cash we pay fot Sterling. Liverpool have an history of this (see what I did there?). Id be truly staggered if this wasnt wrapped up already. All hands on deck for the KDB and Pogba deals now I'd have thought although I couldnt care a fuck if we fail in acquiring Pogba who imo is the most ludicrously overpriced player ive ever seen. Give me Verratti any day. Sooner have Schneiderlin and Koke, theyd cost the same!

Your missing the point with Pogba I fear. Yes he is an emerging talent and yes he is overpriced, he is however a marquee signing and the MCFC PR machine can only benefit by having him sign...... There is so much hype re this kid and so many suitors that the cost of not getting him may be disastrous and net out a lot of the hard work we have done in convincing the world that City are back!

Perhaps someone can explain to me how the media can simultaneously say that we offered £40 million last week only to be "trumped" (their words) by Chelsea with a £40 mill offer of their own. So Chavski £40 million trumps City £40 million, does it? How does that work?

This post was cringey and embarrassing to be honest.

We're not doing the weekly shop at waitrose here, we are talking about multimillion pound deals for some of the most sought after players on the planet.

Clubs need to play to their own gallery of support which means things are leaked on both sides to try and win the PR war once the dust has settled.

If we were signing lesser players like firminho or depay then we would already have it done . But in this window , lesser players won't cut the mustard.

Be patient and take care to not step in the bullshit

The amount of noise coming out of our management and players since season end means they know we mean business , we won't be disappointed in August I'm sure of it

The money we have to pay for him and wages is ludicrous. Hes a star I agree, but not ea 50m player let alone 80+ on same wages as Aguero. Its an absolute pisstake and he has a cancer of an agent who will look to shift him in a few years ala Balo, Ibra, Cavani. We dont need to tell the world we are here with signing Pogba, we need to emsure we are as strong and balanced as a team as possible. Schnierlin and Koke offer a better balance and is shrewder business and both have long futures ahead of them. Bale and Neymar stood out as game changers, Ronaldo as ronseal a signing as possible and these cost the money Pogba would yet all were proven top quality game changers. Im also very dubious about Serie A as a league nowadays. I just think its too much of a gamble for the money involved

Yes I can explain it, the press have no idea what is going on so they put 2 and 2 together and get 5!

I don't know who are worse, the press who write such drivel or the people on here believing what they read and flapping about it.

Its not even the end of June yet so plenty of time to land our targets - last time I checked none have them have gone elsewhere so just chill... Gone are the days when we are desperate to sign anyone and are thankful of signing the likes of Corradi!

signing Raheem Sterling for £50m wouldn't be a rip off

PATRICK VIEIRA has rubbished claims Manchester City are in danger of being ripped-off over Raheem Sterling.

By Jeremy Cross, Chief Sports Writer / Published 24th June 2015

Etihad bosses are plotting a club-record £50m bid for the Liverpool contract rebel after having two previous offers of £30m and £40m rejected.

That would make Sterling the most expensive English player in history, with some critics insisting he is not worth the cash.

But Vieira, who is City's academy development executive, insists the England winger is worth every penny.

He said: "I think if you ask 10 people what they think about him, I think nine would give you a positive answer.

"I would be part of the nine people because he's shown how good he is, how well he's been doing at Liverpool.

Patrick Vieira
"If he is in the market, not just City would be interested in him."

Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all pulled out of the running for Sterling after baulking at the price.

But City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak is still determined to land him.

And Vieira reckons the lure of City will be hard to resist for Sterling, who has refused to sign a new deal at Anfield.

He said: "I think the team has improved a lot, the club is really going up fast.

POSITIVE: Vieira thinks Sterling would be a fantastic signing [GETTY]

"Now, when you have Manchester City in the market, to try to bring a big name, big name players think about it.

"That shows how Manchester City have become bigger and important in international football.

"I think we are in a period where you have a lot of speculation and that's the way football is.

"I think every big name will be linked with City because City is a big club in Europe. Players will want to join the club and have success."

Vieira also believes the loss of their Premier League title to Chelsea last season will not hinder City.

He said: "You only have one team who can win it. Chelsea won it last year, so United, City, Arsenal and Liverpool were not going to be happy.

"But I think what is important is to analyse the situation and analyse what the club has achieved in the past four years.

"If you analyse the last four years, it's been more successful than anything else.

"Don't forget that four or five years ago, the club wasn't at that level.

"I think the journey of the club so far has been fantastic and you just have to look at the players we have in our squad."

I don't see this as a gamble at all, the kid could be stellar, he could be very good, we don't know yet. The immediate shot in the arm for City in terms of street cred however would be stellar for certain i.e. we would have signed a kid (for a huge sum) from under the noses of the big boys who would have had to pay big bucks for him regardless...

You're fooling no one.

RAGGY WUM!

There is no offer from Chelsea, just shit stirring, can't get anywhere near the bidding as it currently stands at.

Funnily enough, the same can also be said for Pogba and KDB.

Other rival clubs would all love our targets but the prices are freezing the majority out of the process from the off.
