Hi bobmcfc!!...we need to shut him up mate!!;) Sterling having a hard enough time showing his face in Liverpool...kid needs a break and the support of us City fans!! After the news that he told Liverpool he not going on tour with them, I've got a lot more respect for the kid.....

I agree.

What should have come out yesterday or even earlier was an official transfer request, not a refusal to go on tour.

It's been handled so poorly by everyone at Liverpool.

He finds back of net early in campaign and the same guy slamming him on sports talk shows will be the first guy with a sterling kit on.

How has been handled poorly by Liverpool,they have a asset and have set a price.

If anyone his agent is the one who handled it poorly,making Raheem go on the BBC and give a misjudged interview and then his agent excavate the situation more with his comments in the evening standard about how his client won't stay for 900K a week.This same agent tried to do the same thing with his other client Berahino who he made pull the same stunt with a ill judged interview how he wants to leave WBA,Pulis ended up dropping him for 2 months.

Every club has it's share of dickheads, but I've noticed over the last few years that fewer and fewer City fans seem to ring talksport, even when they are blatantly wumming for a response. The ones that do, tend to agree with whatever nonsense the presenters are spouting. Which makes me think they aren't City fans at all, just someone on the production team who's doing it to get a response from genuine blues.

Can honestly say that I've never really listened to it. It's been on in cars i've been travelling in, that's about as far as it goes.

I agree though that they are the kind of organisation who'd happily have fake "callers" just to get a reaction from other people. Radio's own version of click bait.

Liverpool have cynically used the media and its old boot room to assassinate the lad and his character through the national media ever since it became clear he didn't want to play for you anymore.

Rodgers was first to take the contract talks public with his "we've made the lad an incredible offer" which also got leaked to the media as being 100k a week.
 
This whole saga says more about Liverpool than the actual player for me. Sterling has been tarnished throughout the gutterpress, the way in which fans have reacted from cheering his every move on the field to within weeks being the biggest villain show's how fickle their fanbase/club/ex-players are...

The complete opposite has been our club with James Milner.
it became apparent that he wanted to leave.
Fine - we gave him a standing ovation.
No squabbles, the club tried to convince him to stay but he moved on quite quickly to Liverpool.
good luck to him.

Now if I was a football player i'd be thinking twice about ever signing for Liverpool because of the way a player that has done wonders for them and could potentially put £50mil. in the clubs coffers gets treated like a piece of shit just because he wanted to do the same as any other player does - go to a different club.
Liverpool have a selective memory issue (like the rags) in that they can remember their past achievements but forget other memories such as signing Sterling from QPR.

Any time a scouser says something to me I show them this picture:

I was contacted this morning by one of the national papers, asking if I'd pen an article for them about Sterling.

They asked if I was alarmed by his refusal to go on tour, and whether he'd be loyal at City, to which I replied that I wasn't remotely concerned.

They then said thanks, but that's not the angle we're after.

No doubt they'll now wheel out someone like Colin Shindler who will provide the negative slant they require.

Yeah i was meaning clubs have an agreement on the webster rule so it wouldn't work if Sterling used that rule to get a move,i used the wrong wording my bad.I'm not aware of any player using that rule as so far.

Because it show's them that he once played for another club and moved on to better his career with their club.
Now he's evolved, he is hoping to further his career at an better club.
We are a better club in recent times with higher league positions, more trophies and consistent Chumps League qualification.

it's also good to note that whilst this lad was with QPR i remember stories of him being linked with the Rags and Arsenal.
Lol i remember one ex-player labelling him as the next wayne rooney - name escapes me though.
